From Melbourne Calm Painting Workshops by TanShi

👇This workshop requires **a fee and a deposit.** Please read all below before you hit the button👇 Hello art lovers, for this meet-up, we’ll use water-based acrylic paints to create a small artwork that you can take home and display👩‍🎨 Each session includes a live demonstration from me, so beginners are absolutely welcome! The group is intentionally small, which means there is plenty of time for questions and individual guidance👍 Recent themes we've done include: 🌊A lakeside scene inspired by Ballarat 🌷A picture of flowers, "I want to display" 🌇A view of Geelong's sunset Let me know what you would like to try :-) **Place** Brunswick West (👉private home studio space – exact address provided after booking via message) **Fee** **$50 AUD** All materials included! You only need to bring: • a drink • a lunch or snack(if you need) • a bag to carry your artwork home The finished painting is approximately A5 size. **Before attending the sessions** If you’d like to join, please send me a message to secure your seats with: **1\. Your name** **2\. A short introduction (your art experience or what interests you about joining)** **Deposit** To secure your seat and prepare plenty of materials, **a $20 deposit** is required via bank transfer(PayID) before the sessions. Details will be provided via message. The last $30 fee can be paid directly on the day via bank transfer/cash, so that we don't have to pay extra fees for PayPal, hehe😂) If you can not come after paying your deposit, please let me know as early as possible. I’ll pay it back via bank transfer. I’m hoping to create a friendly space where people can enjoy making art without pressure, meet others, and leave with a painting they’re proud of😊 If you’re coming alone, don’t worry — most of the people join solo, and the group is kept small and friendly. If you would like to bring guests, please message me directly to reserve your seats. Thanks for reading, and feel free to message me with any questions😊 *As a requirement of the owner of the studio space, males may only participate as part of a couple when you attend the sessions, until the organiser finds a nice common studio space. Thank you for your understanding🙏

The Singles Merri‑Creek Mischief Walk & Northcote High‑Street Frolic - 12km

The Singles Merri‑Creek Mischief Walk & Northcote High‑Street Frolic - 12km

Sat, Aug 1, 3:30 AM
From Eat, Drink and Dance Melbourne
4.5

**🌿✨ Eat Drink Dance Melbourne:** **The Merri‑Creek Mischief Walk & Northcote High‑Street Frolic via the Ceres Community Farm and Cafe** Abbotsford Convent → CERES → Northcote → Rushall Station Saturday Afternoon • ~12 km of flirtation, exploration & playful chaos Meet at 1.30pm at the Collingwood children's farm entrance 50m down the road from the convent entrance. Please arrive by 1.15pm. We don't wait if you're late. You'll have to catch up. Come earlier if you want a snack at the convent **💘 The Vibe** A Saturday designed for singles who enjoy playful banter, scenic wandering, and a little urban mischief. This is a slow‑dating adventure: gentle flirtation, organic café warmth, creekside charm, and a High‑Street bar hop that feels like a choose‑your‑own‑romantic‑subplot. Be aware that these walks incorporate a fair bit of randomness and serendipitous energy. ***Please note: This event is waitlisted.*** ***I want a balanced gender mix, i.e even numbers of girls and guys. I have a creep code operating and event expectations around no shows, read on for how that works.*** **Singles only**. Couples allowed only if they’re brand‑new (the “we’re still pretending to be chill” stage). Married folks: this one isn’t your chapter. **🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ The Route (A Flirt‑Trail in Three Acts**) **Act I — The Convent Spark** We gather at the Abbotsford Convent, where the architecture is dramatic and the pre‑walk mingling is deliciously awkward in all the right ways. Come early e.g 12.30 to grab a coffee and snack Then we slip onto the Merri Creek Trail, following its leafy curves — the kind of path that naturally encourages side‑by‑side conversation and gentle curiosity. **Act II — CERES: Organic Chemistry (Literally)** We arrive at CERES Community Farm, a pocket of earthy charm and wholesome vibes. Break at the CERES Organic Café for warm food, warm hands, and warmer conversations. This is the midpoint where people relax, open up, and start deciding who they want to walk next to for the second half. People can also join us at Ceres cafe if they want to skip the Merri creek walk and then do the Northcote high street bar hop. please let the organiser know before hand. **Act III — Northcote High‑Street Frolic** From CERES, we wander into Northcote, where the vibe shifts from earthy to artsy. A playful High‑Street bar hop + boutique exploration begins: - A cosy wine bar for soft‑spoken flirtation - A craft‑beer spot for louder laughter - A few quirky shops for spontaneous “try this on” moments - A record store where someone inevitably mentions their favourite band We finish by strolling back to Rushall Station, winding down the day with the mellow, satisfied energy that only comes from shared adventure. **🧣 What to Bring** - Comfortable walking shoes - Snacks + water - Winter layers - A playful, open attitude - Curiosity for strangers who might not stay strangers ⚠️ **Group Rules & Event Etiquette ⚠️** These are basic, commonsense standards that keep events safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone. 👟 **Fitness Requirements** **Walking**: 3–4 km/hr. Moderate fitness. enough to walk 15 km with limited stops We walk at a relaxed pace. Please ensure you meet the fitness level for the event. If the group is forced to wait excessively, you may be asked to leave the event. ⛹️ **Pace: Too Fast or Too Slow** **Small** social events rely on staying together. If you prefer a very different pace, consider going solo, joining a faster/slower group, or choosing events that match your fitness. 👩‍💼 **Time Constraints** **If** you’re on a tight schedule, this may not be the right event. Social activities rarely run exactly on time. **👥Waitlist & Gender Ratios** **To** keep things balanced and comfortable: Event capped at 12 people to test interest, if my star signs are in favour I may increase this to 20 Generally guys admitted only after a woman registers (to maintain ratios) at my discretion. **Female Privilege: New Idea** There is usually a waitlist of men. The first female that discretely messages the organiser gets first dibs on any guy that is on the waitlist to have him included. Assuming this occurs within 12 hours of being put into the going list. Otherwise the organiser chooses. Women can be a little flaky (we love them anyway), so I may accept 1–2 extra **🧭The Creep Code** **A** refined social compass keeps the vibe safe, fun, and drama‑free. So: No married/Seperated individuals or those already coupled up (generally) No Tinder Swindler‑style minglers **Guys**: Please Take Special Note Must have a clear face photo (no sunglasses, no blurry shadows, no “mysterious man in witness protection”) ⚠️Don't obscure your identity in other words. No wide shots taken from a distance where you can't be identified. No yacht/car/jet flexing — if your profile screams “crypto‑adjacent”, you will be gently declined. If you are declined, update your profile photo to something less creepy and more classy **Girls**: No restrictions — privacy and safety first” ⚠️ **CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS ⚠️** 👻 **No‑Shows** No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events. ***Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event, cancellations within 24 hour of the evevt when there is a waitlist will result in group removal People on the waitlist need more than 24 hours notice that they have been approved to attend.. Flaking within this time period prevents waitlist people from attending No‑shows will be removed and blocked from the group. *Last‑minute cancellations (“flaking”) may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist. 👀 **Attending Without Being on the Going List** This is a security issue. Do NOT turn up unannounced. If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event check‑ins are performed. **⏰ Late Arrivals** If you’re late, the group will not wait. You willl be marked as a No‑Show and removed from the group. Messages will not be monitored after the event starts *It’s your responsibility to communicate and catch up before the evevt starts—this may not be possible for some events. 🎲 **Second Chances** **If something goes w**rong, communicate with the organiser. Silence + poor behaviour = removal. Communication + accountability = second chances. As the organiser is busy organising this may be impossible during the event. **🚩Disclaimer**: No **Liability & Organiser Indemnity** **By** participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept full personal responsibility for your own safety, wellbeing, and belongings. The organiser assumes no liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred during the activity. Participation is entirely at your own risk.
