Quietly Queer Chill(y) Hike

Quietly Queer Chill(y) Hike

Sun, Nov 15, 7:00 PM
From Quietly Queer: Low-Key LGBTQ+ Socials
5.0

Hey new and familiar Quietly Queer folx! Join us for a Sunday trail walk! This time, we're heading to **Nimitz Way in Tilden Regional Park**, one of the East Bay's beautiful ridge trails. The trail is paved and generally considered accessible, with relatively gentle grades and expansive views of the Bay Area and surrounding hills. *If you have specific mobility needs or accessibility questions, feel free to reach out beforehand so we can help you determine whether the route is a good fit.* Be sure to dress warmly! It's a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors without having to commit to a strenuous hike. We'll take our time, enjoy the scenery, and get some fresh air together! As always, this is a come-as-you-are gathering. There's no pressure to keep up with anyone, no forced introductions, and no expectation to be "on" socially. Whether you're coming to meet new people, catch up with familiar faces, enjoy the outdoors, or simply get out of the house for a bit, you're welcome here! 🗓 **Date & Time:** Sunday, November 15, 11AM 📍 **Location:** Meet at Inspiration Point 💡 **Vibe:** Relaxed, friendly, outdoorsy, and community-focused. All ages are welcome. **👟 A few things to bring:** Comfortable walking shoes, water, and a light jacket or extra layer. The ridge can get breezy, so it's worth being prepared! We'll walk at a comfortable pace and can decide as a group how far we'd like to go before turning back. No need to commit to a long hike! I'll be wearing my usual Pride neckerchief, so I'll be easy to spot. Feel free to DM me or post on the discussion board if you have trouble finding us. See you there!

Wednesday Hike

Wednesday Hike

Wed, Nov 11, 11:00 PM
From Weekly Hikes at Redwood Regional Park and more
4.9

We'll be going back to hiking on Wednesday. We'll meet in the meadow by the Canyon Meadow parking lot. Our hike will start at 3, and is planned to end at about 5, though the exact time will depend on the speed of the group. The address for the [Redwood Gate](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=%2Fg%2F1v9gvp_d) entrance to [Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=%2Fm%2F0gwhb9) is **[7867 Redwood Rd, Oakland, CA 94619](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=%2Fg%2F1v9gvp_d)**. Canyon meadow is the fourth and final parking lot after the turnoff from Redwood road. The park district has not been charging an entry or parking fee for several years now at Redwood Park. Please make sure no valuables are left or visible in the car to prevent break-in. At 3:00 pm we will start with meet and greet; and each person gets to share 2-3 things that made them happy this week. Please be on time and get to know your new friends during the hike. Depending on the group we will go fast or slow, about 4 to 5 miles and up to about 500 feet of elevation gain, with Route to be determined on day of the hike. The hike is scheduled for 2 hours and I will try to get us back by then, though occasionally and depending on the group we may be back a little earlier or later. Please make sure to bring enough water and clothes and respect for everyone and nature. Doggie friends are not currently part of the hike. Please be considerate when RSVP’ing and update in advance if you cannot make it so others on the waitlist can join if given enough notice. No shows will be marked if there’s no valid reason, and more than 2 no shows will have you removed from the group. Thank you for your understanding. Some trail sections are steep and or slippery. Hiking shoes or boots, and poles if you use them, are recommended. Participants assume responsibility for their own safety. If you enjoy the hike and are able to, please consider donating for meetup organizer's subscription fee. ####
