Sun, Sep 13, 4:00 AM**Djerring Centre behind Collingwood Town Hall On Eddy Court** **🚲 MBTC Spring Meeting: Featuring BrainWave Bikes!** Don't miss our next meeting featuring special guest Kieran McMahon, founder of **BrainWave Bikes**—an incredible charity supporting children with brain conditions through modern bicycle recycling. **What they do:** * **Restore & Resell:** Turning donated bikes into high-quality rides for the public. * **Professional Service:** Offering expert maintenance and repairs. * **Eco-Friendly:** Keeping bikes out of landfills through sustainable recycling. Backed by corporate sponsors and a top-notch facility, Kieran and his team of four mechanics have built a brilliant resource for our community. Come hear their story and discover how they do it! Peter and Margaret have just spent 2 months in Canada with their bikes. So enjoy the tall but true tales of their adventure conquering the Klondike Trail in the Yukon , maybe. ### A pleasant afternoon with scones , jam and cream and a lovely cup of tea will be served. Just lovely. Alister is also providing some homemade Marmalade Jam. Wow!

Mitcham - Montrose loop, 45 kms (intermediate)
Sat, Oct 3, 12:00 AM**NOTE: BYO lunch required** We depart from Mitcham Railway Station at 10am along the Box Hill-Ringwood Rail Trail, turn left up the Eastlink Trail and then Mullum-Mullum Creek Trail towards Croydon. Crossing over Maroondah Highway (at traffic lights) and into Croydon to pick up the Carrum-Warburton Trail to Mooroolbark. Following Cambridge Road and Montrose Road (bike lane) and then on-road for 500 m on Mt Dandenong Tourist Road to arrive at Hahndorf for hot chocolate and other delights (20 km mark). Hahndorf does not have a grand selection for lunch, hence we are only stopping here for a (hot) chocolate and toilet. Following the backstreets of Montrose we pick up Sheffield Road (bike path followed by gravel road) to arrive at the Liverpool Road Retarding Basin for our lunch stop - no shelter, no toilets but plenty of ambience (26 km mark). After lunch, we pick up the Dandenong Creek Trail all the way to Eastlink, follow Eastlink Trail towards Ringwood and then peel off back to Mitcham. Sat, Oct 17, 11:30 PMWe will meet at Caulfield Railway Station outside Platform 4. We are off to the charismatic charm of Yarraville and its great cafe scene . One way its 22Km , there is a station at Yarraville or return via the CBD to get back home. I recommend Coffee, Orange juice and Eggs Benedict . though there is the new trend of breakfast brisket ! Any type of bicycle will do as it is on roads and cycle paths. Bring water . Your bike needs to be in good order and wet weather gear if the forecast is for rain. Sat, Sep 19, 1:30 AMNOTE THIS IS A SATURDAY RIDE STARTING AT 11:30am Our hare, E&B (ably assisted by Cooch) is taking us into the wilds of the eastern suburbs for a drink-stop-studded ride. Meet at 11:30am at Mitcham station or at midday at the first drink stop (see below) Instructions from the hare: 1. It’s on SATURDAY (not Sunday) 19th September 2. Bring a current MYKI – train WILL BE included in this ride. 3. It’s an A-B ride. 4. There are 4 Drink Stops on the agenda. 5. Train to (or park at) Mitcham Station at 11:30 6. First Drink Stop is from Midday (12:00) at Dutch Rules Distilling – [586 Whitehorse Road, Mitcham](https://www.google.com/maps/search/586+Whitehorse+Road,+Mitcham?entry=gmail&source=g) (a few doors down from the Mitcham Hotel) 7. Leaving at 12:45 for the rest of the trail. The last Drink Stop and Circle will be in Boronia. Boronia and Bayswater stations are nearby for the train ride back to the start, or home.
