Looking for a fun way to get stronger, improve your fitness and meet new people? Join me on Wednesday at 7:00 pm for a free beginner-friendly outdoor bodyweight training class. Whether you've never exercised before or you're looking for a new challenge, this class is designed to help you build strength and confidence at your own pace. Hi, I'm Maroof 👋 I've been practicing calisthenics for over six years and one of the things I love most about it is that it brings people together. Watching people achieve movements they never thought possible, whether it's their first push-up, their first pull-up or their first handstand, is incredibly rewarding. What to expect Each session includes a guided warm-up, beginner-friendly strength exercises using your bodyweight, progressions for pushing, pulling, squatting and core strength, optional introductions to calisthenics skills as you progress and a fun team game at the end (with a small prize for the winners 😁) Every exercise has easier and harder variations so you can work at a level that suits you. There is no pressure to keep up with anyone else. Who is this for? ✅ Complete beginners ✅ Anyone wanting to get stronger using bodyweight exercises ✅ People looking for a friendly outdoor fitness community ✅ Anyone curious about calisthenics You do not need to be able to do a pull-up, push-up or any advanced movements before joining. Many people come on their own so don't worry if you won't know anyone. The class is welcoming, supportive and a great place to meet like-minded people. What to bring Comfortable workout clothes, water and positive attitude. Price: Free. This is a recurring class every other Wednesday unless otherwise stated. Disclaimer By attending, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your own safety while participating. If you plan to come, please RSVP so I know how many people to expect. If your plans change, I'd appreciate it if you could update your RSVP. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch!

Urban hike: Glienicke castle and Babelsberg castle

Urban hike: Glienicke castle and Babelsberg castle

Sun, Aug 2, 8:10 AM
From Queer Hiking Berlin

Hi everyone! I hope no-one in the group was affected by the events at the CSD last night. So sad. I wanted to revive the cancelled hike due to the heat a month ago. I know it is a bit short notice, but I want to give it a shot and just get some steps done. As announced before, in addition to lakes and forests, we'll explore some of the area's most beautiful architecture and cultural landmarks: Glienicke Palace, Babelsberg Palace, and the famous Glienicke Bridge, where spies were exchanged during the Cold War. We'll start at Glienicke Palace and take some time to admire the grounds before crossing the bridge into Potsdam. From there, we'll continue through the Neuer Garten along Heiliger See, then make our way through parts of Potsdam to reach the Staudengarten on Freundschaftsinsel (Friendship Island – a fitting destination for a hiking group!). After crossing the Havel once again, we'll follow the riverside towards Babelsberg Palace. From Babelsberg, we'll head to Klein Glienicke, an intriguing historical site with a unique Cold War history, before returning to Glienicke Palace. From there, we'll take a bus back towards Potsdam or Wannsee and make our way back to Berlin. The hike is approximately 12 km long and should take around 3 hours, depending on how much time we spend exploring the palaces and their surroundings. We will meet at 10:10 AM on the S1/S2 platform (lower level) at Friedrichstraße station and take the next S1 train towards Wannsee. From Wannsee, we'll continue by bus to Glienicke Palace. Please bring enough water, snacks, and anything else you might need for a comfortable walk. We'll likely have opportunities to sit in a park and enjoy the views of the Havel, the palaces, and the surrounding landscape. I'll be wearing a pink cap, so keep an eye out for a tall person in a pink cap! See you on the trail and let's hope the weather is playing along this time! Check out our Instagram: @queerhikesberlin

Have you always wanted to learn bouldering but never had the right company? Or are you an experienced boulderer who just wants to find boulder-buddies? If yes, this is the right event for you. We are going to meet inside "urban apes Basement Boulderstudio", close to S Anhalter Bahnhof, also not far from Potsdamer Platz. If you have never been there, you will need to sign up with them, which will take a bit of time. After that, **you can find us on the couches near the lockers (not in front of the reception), next to a red smiley**. When you enter the actual gym, enter the hall by turning left immediately - you are walking towards them. We will start warming up around 11:10, so everyone has enough time to arrive and get changed before that. ***\*\*\**** *Spots are limited, so please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if you won't be joining. **NO-SHOWs ARE NOT COOL \*\*\**** We enter the gym at 11:00, if you are late, you will need to look for us inside. IMPORTANT: they only accept cards as a payment method. No cash. One day ticket will cost you 13,90 EUR (10,90 EUR if you are a student, free if Urban Sports Club). **What to bring: well, first of all, a good mood.** But you could also bring * climbing shoes if you have any. If not, you can rent them there, no worries. They cost 3,50 EUR. * a lock (for the locker). * chalk. You won't need that if you are a beginner. Renting is possible. * water. * extra clothes. It's quite chalky there and humans sweat, not the best mix, don't you think? :D Please, note: the organizer is not responsible for anything, including injuries. A basic introduction will be provided.
