New event, new location — thanks for being understanding if anything unexpected comes up. **Join our Discord group:** [Click Here](https://discord.gg/dyjcusEzrr) **Donations:** [Click Here](https://account.venmo.com/u/PasadenaSocial) (Please support our group🙏) **Disclaimer**: As the organizer, I reserve the right to remove or decline attendance for anyone whose behavior is disruptive, disrespectful, unsafe, or inconsistent with the purpose of the group. **Event Details:** This is our first time hosting at Dockweiler Beach. We have someone holding a firepit from the early AM until we arrive in the afternoon. We're bringing a volleyball net, but we also need a foldable table and 1-2 canopies or sunshades. Please message the organizer if you can help with this. **What to bring:** Each person must contribute something. You can bring drinks, food, snacks, or **two** fire logs (must be food safe). Coordinate with the rest so we don't get too much of one thing. **Parking**: To find us, we will drop the coordinates in the comments section and in Discord. It says online that parking is around $10. Parking may be challenging, so try to carpool (join Discord for this) **Community Rules:** If you disagree with these guidelines, this group is not a good fit for you. Individuals creating drama and problems at the expense of the organizer will be removed from the group. **#1 - Be Polite and Friendly** Be nice. No disrespectful or abrasive talk, no name-calling, and no use of inappropriate language. **#2 - Good Vibes Only** Don't create chaos at the expense of your organizer. No negative talk of any kind. No complaining. No gossip. No drama. No talk of religion, politics, or other sensitive topics. Please be mindful. These conversations often lead to fights and negativity that your host needs to deal with, so please avoid it. **#3 - Respect Boundaries and Personal Space** Don't Make Others Uncomfortable. Don't give unsolicited attention. If your advances aren't clearly welcomed, take a step back and be respectful. A no is a final answer. Refrain from requesting others' social media or contact info unless you have an established relationship with them. Be aware of social cues indicating discomfort. **#4 - Manage Your Expectations. No Self-Entitlement.** Please be mindful when making requests for additional services, especially when it comes to free events. **#5 - Friendly Gameplay Reminder** Don't get too critical or frustrated with others during gameplay. If you can’t offer advice in a friendly way, please keep it to yourself. The intent of this Meetup group is to connect and make friends.

🔥 Midwest Bonfire Night at Dockweiler Beach 🔥

🔥 Midwest Bonfire Night at Dockweiler Beach 🔥

Sun, Jun 21, 12:00 AM
From Midwest To LA- New in Town

Nothing says summer like a bonfire on the beach — and nothing says *Midwest* like gathering around a fire with good people. Whether you just moved to LA or you've been here a while and still miss that warm, neighborly energy back home, come hang with your people at Dockweiler! *** **THE PLAN** We're taking over a fire pit at Dockweiler Beach for an evening of good vibes, s'mores, and that classic Midwest "just show up and have fun" energy. A few of us will head out early to snag a fire pit, but fair warning — **fire pits at Dockweiler are first come, first served**, and we can't guarantee one on a busy June Saturday. No worries though — we have back up options! We can kick back on the beach and catch what's going to be a gorgeous sunset, or head to a nearby bar or restaurant to keep the hang going. Either way, the night won't be a bust — we're here for the people, not just the pit! 🌅 *** **WHAT TO BRING** 🪑 Your own chair or blanket ⛱️ Beach umbrella or canopy if you want some shade for the earlier part of the evening 🍺 Your own drinks (alcohol is allowed — keep it in a cup/can, **no glass on the beach!**) 🌭 Snacks, food, anything you want to cook over the fire **What we'll have covered:** ✅ Wood & fire-starting supplies ✅ Skewers ✅ S'mores fixings (graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows) **PARKING** Dockweiler State Beach — **12001 Vista Del Mar, Playa del Rey, CA 90293** Park in the numbered lots along Vista Del Mar Blvd. Aim for **Lot 3** (the southernmost lot) — it's closest to the fire pit area. Parking is around **$15–$20** at the kiosk. **HOW TO FIND US** Once we're set up, we'll post our location in the comments so you can find us easily. You can also drop a comment or message the organizer when you arrive and we'll wave you down. 🙋 *** **A FEW GOOD-TO-KNOWS** * No glass containers on the beach * Dress in layers — warm at 5pm, cooler once the sun goes down * Sunset is around 8pm and from Dockweiler it's *chef's kiss* 🌇 * Fun fact: you're right under the LAX flight path — low-flying planes every few minutes, and honestly it never gets old Come for the fire, stay for the feeling of finally finding your people out here. 🌅🔥
