Sip & Make: Jewelry Repair, Trade, Donate Workshop

Give your cherished jewelry a second chance to shine. Join us for an evening dedicated to breathing new life into pieces you love, whether that means using our tools to repair your pieces, trading items you've outgrown, or donating to support our community. We'll supply the know-how, the tools and libations for a fun-filled evening of up-cycling. Offered monthly at our studio in Berkeley. Please note that not all pieces can be repaired. We will evaluate on a case-by-case basis. Jewelry donations welcome - broken pieces, costume jewelry, we take it all. Used for summer camp and other up-cycling events.

Halloween costume making and crafting

Want to work on a Halloween costume or craft? I’ll have basic art supplies available if you would like to join me! Bring any costume or craft you are already working on we can maybe come up with ideas together! I will provide some snacks but you are welcome to bring your own too. This will be at my house in Oakland’s Fruitvale neighborhood and i will post the exact address the day before Please note that I realize most people work on Fridays so I m willing to post an evening craft session but need suggestions for an alternative location due to my family’s bedtime schedule. Please pm me or post in the comments if you have ideas for other locations and dates.

Come join us for our bi-weekly Coffee & Crafting to enjoy some company and cafe fare while making progress on your current WIP! Thursday Casual Clay Night

Looking to get your hands dirty on a Thursday night with some pottery? Pre-register and bring your friends for our Casual Clay evening. Acceptable from beginners that just want to try working with clay to more experienced potters wanting to hand build. Email clay@stickyartlab.com to register. UPDATED PRICING FOR 2026: Pricing is $40 for the first person, and $35 for each additional person in your group. This includes the firing fee and second session to glaze your pieces. If you are an absolute beginner and would like to get started, I suggest picking up a kit to get you started on a project.

Knitting with Friends

Hello yarn lovers, Due to beautiful weather on Saturday I’m changing our Meet Up location to Hidden Cafe in Berkeley. It is a park, so bring a chair or blanket for the grass. And bring your yarn project. We typically sit at the far end of the grass under a big tree. The cafe has delicious drinks and a selection of pastries. Newbies encouraged to come and hang out with us. Second Sunday: Writing & Weeding

Join us Sundays for Writing & Weeding! Join us for Writing & Weeding! We've all had times when we just can't seem to figure out how to the words out. Sitting with other writers in the garden really helps break writer's block. In our unique garden setting, you can also literally weed out your thoughts by taking some time to pull weeds in a community garden. Getting our hands in the dirt can sometimes inspire creative flow. (Note, we recommend you bring your own gardening gloves.) We are at the gallery and garden at Hayes Valley Art Works - 295 Oak Street at Octavia - writing and pulling some actual weeds! We usually meet at the tables by the gate at Lily / Octavia. In damp weather, we may meet in the gallery in the converted shipping container with the red and black mural 295 Oak Street corner of Octavia. I Please note, we do not have heat in the gallery and run on solar power, so bring your laptop charged and dress appropriately for the weather! Writers are welcome to sit in either south or north garden, or the gallery, both are between Page and Oak on the east side of Octavia. We suggest bringing any devices fully charged as we don't have outlets or a restroom. We recommend stoppping at Mercury Cafe across the street at Page and Octavia - they have a restroom and great food and drinks we recommend stopping in there on your way over for a beverage and use the facilities if needed. If possible, or in bad weather, we will also open our Zoom meeting but this is not always an option due to internet access at the garden.
