Watercolor Painting Class

We will teach/demonstrate beginner watercolor techniques and refresh for those who already have some background in watercolor painting. This is a single session class. One Sunday only, focusing on still-life painting. The class is 2.5 hours. Class starts at 10:00am. All art supplies will be provided. All are welcomed!

Charcoal Drawing Classes Meet in Art Studio in SF

Thank you for visiting our group - Charcoal Drawing Class! We meet on Saturdays, 5:00-7:00pm, in my art studio located in San Francisco. All are welcome, whether you are a total beginner who want to explore, learn, or just have fun... or a more experienced artist who might want to freshen your techniques, pick up where you left off a while ago, or just enjoy the experience of drawing in a group setting and share the joy of creating art. My art studio is a place for kids M-F after school and we have day camps during school holidays. We have been in business since 2019. I have decided to include adult art classes on Saturdays and Sundays, and now we have oil painting classes 2-4:30pm, and drawing classes 5-7pm. On Sundays are have soft pastels drawing classes. We will draw still life. If there's a request for a live model, please let me know! It's a wonderful place for everyone to get together safely to have fun, learn, and bring home a beautiful piece of artwork that you have created! Developing the ability to work with layers\. 4\. Increase students' ability to perceive and match values\. OVERVIEW Our art teacher will offer a demonstration, guiding students step-by-step, from start to finish. You will create a simple landscape pastel drawing to take home at the end of class. No drawing experience is necessary since the course is for beginners, and we will provide all the materials. SPECIFICATIONS In this course, the student will draw with soft pastels from a selected photo reference, using a light mid-tone paper surface, and blending tools. The mid-tone surface allows the student to add value when making the colors darker and subtract value when making them lighter. Working in both directions will add a natural and realistic character to the drawing. The student will start with a simple sketch, using lines to create a basic shape while considering the proportions. Then the student will find and apply the values to the drawing using analogous soft pastel colors, creating areas of colors indicating light and shadow. The student will be using blending tools to create a color gradient while working on layering the soft pastel colors. Lastly, we will create a shadow for the object in the background and use lighter colors to reveal the illumination source.
