Melbourne Elevated Heights Aerial Silks Exchange

Sun, Oct 18, 10:30 PM
From Elevated Connections Aerial Silks Skillshare Community

We are hosting our next Melbourne Elevated Heights Aerial Silks Exchange for anyone in the community looking to get some extra time on the silks. This is a low-pressure space meant for sharing sequences, working on specific transitions, or simply getting in a solid training session alongside others who share the same interest. We keep things informal and collaborative, so whether you are working on a new drop or just want to refine your technique, you will find a supportive group to train with. This meetup is open to all levels, though a basic level of experience is recommended as this is a skillshare environment rather than a structured class. We will have the mats and rigs ready, so please bring your own gear and come prepared to share a bit of knowledge or pick up a few tips from the rest of the group. If you are planning on joining us, please let us know by hitting the RSVP button so we have a good idea of how many people to expect.

🇮🇹 Italian Festa Social: Food, Culture & New Friends

🇮🇹 Italian Festa Social: Food, Culture & New Friends

Sun, Oct 18, 1:00 AM
From Melbourne Global Circle
4.8

Come join Melbourne Global Circle for a fun afternoon exploring one of Melbourne’s biggest celebrations of Italian culture! 🇮🇹🍕☕🎶 We’re heading to the Italian Festa & Expo at the Royal Exhibition Building — and rather than wandering around by yourself, let’s explore it together, meet new people and enjoy a little taste of Italy in Melbourne. Whether you’re Italian, international, new to Melbourne, a local, or simply love Italian food and culture, everyone is welcome. You don’t need to know anyone beforehand — many people will be coming on their own, so don’t be shy! ### **📅 Date & Time** **Sunday, 18 October 2026 at 12:00 PM** Please arrive around the meeting time so we can say hello, introduce ourselves and head into the Festa together. ### **📍 Meeting Point** We’ll meet at the large fountain on the south side of the Royal Exhibition Building, outside the Great Hall. ⛲ The fountain is hard to miss — it stands around 10 metres high and makes an easy landmark for everyone to find. **Royal Exhibition Building** 9 Nicholson St, Carlton VIC 3053 Please check the Meetup page/messages on the day in case there are any last-minute updates about the meeting point. ### **🇮🇹 What’s happening?** The Festa features 180+ stalls, including more than 50 food and drink stalls, along with Italian music, art, fashion and entertainment. We can wander around together, grab some food, check out the different stalls and enjoy things like: 🍕 Italian street food ☕ Coffee and Italian treats 🎶 Live music and entertainment 🛵 A celebration of 80 years of Vespa 💃 All-day Discoteca 🎷 Italian Jazz Festival 🍷 Italian food and wine experiences 🇮🇹 Plenty of Italian culture and atmosphere But for us, the main goal is simple: **Meet people. Have conversations. Explore together. Make some new friends.** ### **🌏 Who should join?** This event is especially great if you’re: • New to Melbourne • An international student • On a working holiday • An expat or recent arrival • A local wanting to meet people from around the world • Interested in different cultures and languages • Or simply looking to expand your social circle **Coming alone is absolutely normal and encouraged.** Melbourne Global Circle is about making it easier to walk into an event not knowing anyone and leave knowing a few more people. ### **🎟 Cost** **FREE!** The Italian Festa itself does not require bookings. Food, drinks and anything you choose to purchase are at your own expense. ### **👋 About Melbourne Global Circle** Melbourne Global Circle brings together locals and people from around the world through relaxed social events, cultural experiences, language exchange and good conversations. You don’t have to be the most outgoing person in the room. Just come along, say hello and we’ll take it from there. 😊 **RSVP and come explore Italy in Melbourne with us! 🇮🇹🌏** *Please note: Melbourne Global Circle is organising a social meetup to attend this public event and is not the organiser of, or affiliated with, the Italian Festa & Expo. Festival activities and details may be changed by the official event organisers.*

Festival Indonesia Melbourne at Federation Square

From Melbourne Social
4.9

Join me for a day at Festival Indonesia Melbourne, the city's big annual celebration of Indonesian culture, now in its 13th year! Federation Square fills up with traditional and contemporary performances, hands-on workshops, trade stalls and plenty of Indonesian food. We'll meet at the Angel sculpture by Deborah Halpern in Birrarung Marr at 10:00am, say hello, then stroll over to Federation Square together. From there we'll take in the performances, try a workshop or two, eat our way through the food stalls, and join the Goyang Pica-Pica Flashmob in the afternoon. If you'd like to dance along, the flashmob tutorial is linked below so you can learn the moves beforehand. Festival Indonesia says entry is free and open to all, so there's no ticket to buy. This is just a casual meetup so we can go along together. **Who this is for** * Anyone curious about Indonesian culture, music and dance * Foodies keen to try regional Indonesian dishes * Anyone up for a bit of fun dancing (totally optional – watching is fine too!) * Solo attendees are very welcome – it's a great way to meet new people **Links** * Meetup start point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Jv4cQXkJTRydrpNq8 * Festival Indonesia Melbourne 2026 Outdoor Festival: https://festivalindonesia.com.au/2026-outdoor-festival/ * Goyang Pica-Pica Flashmob tutorial: https://www.instagram.com/festivalindonesiamelb/reel/DeLLDTzznD-/ **Timeline** * 10:00am – Meet at the Angel sculpture by Deborah Halpern and say hi * 10:15am – Start walking towards the festival at Federation Square * 10:20am – Explore the cultural performances, workshops and stalls, and taste Indonesian food * Afternoon – Join the Goyang Pica-Pica Flashmob (exact time to be confirmed by the festival) * \~4:00pm – Meetup ends **Tickets / cost** * Festival entry is free * Food, drinks and anything you buy from the stalls are at your own cost **Transport** * The start point is in Birrarung Marr, a short walk from Flinders Street Station and Federation Square * Public transport is recommended – city parking on a busy Saturday can be limited and pricey **Bring** * Money for food and drinks * Water bottle * Sunscreen, a hat and an extra layer * Comfy shoes for walking (and dancing!) **Expect** * Difficulty: Easy – mostly wandering, watching and eating * Pace: Relaxed * Vibe: Colourful, lively and festive * Group style: We'll start together and move around loosely as a group **Important notes** * This is a casual social meetup so we can head along together – it isn't run by or affiliated with Festival Indonesia Melbourne. * The festival program and timings are set by the organisers and may change – check their website closer to the day. * It's an outdoor event, so dress for the weather. * It'll be crowded * Join in the dancing at your own comfort level, and look after yourself on the day. * If your plans change, please update your RSVP so numbers stay clear.
