We meet at **09:25 at Gare de L'Est, near the Starbucks** We will take the 09:49 train (name ZIMO, line P) and get off at Nanteuil-Saâcy at 10:38 (free with your zone 5 Navigo pass). Have your lunch with you. You will recognise mee with my blue scarf. A small fee of 8 euros by person, including champagne tasting will be asked in cash before we leave from the train station. 🥾 🌿 🥂 Let's go for a walk in the park of Saint-Cloud, an area of 460 hectares where was once built a castle. It was occupied by King Louis XIV’s brother, then by Queen Maris-Antoinette who continued the embellishments. During the war of 1870, the Prussians occupied the castle. A French shell hit it and a fire ensued which completely consumed it in 48 hours. We will begin our hike by Monsieur Island, which hosts a nautical center. Then we will discover the magnificent park. 🌳 🌳 🌳 Port-Royal-des-Champs Mieux que Saint-Germain-des-Prés : Port-Royal-des-Champs. Ça, c’est de l’abbaye en pleine nature ! Et ce site sera la cerise sur le gâteau de ce bel itinéraire au cœur de la Haute Vallée de Chevreuse. Après le tour de l’étang des Noës (cygnes et canards en foule), vous entrez dans la forêt de Port-Royal, où un joli chemin de terre suit le cours de la rivière locale, la Rhodon pour vous amener aux ruines de la fameuse abbaye. Après quelques kilomètres à travers champs et forêts, vous rejoindrez Chevreuse par les crêtes, pour profiter d’une vue panoramique sous les remparts du château de la Madeleine. We will go to the "haute ville" to admire a few places, taste some rose honey, then embrace the green landscape with the hike, while keeping an eye on the Cesar tower. Have your picnic with you.
