Hike Lake Merced / Fort Funston

Take in beautiful views of Lake Merced, the ocean and coastline, San Bruno Mountain, Twin Peaks, Mount Davidson, and even the Golden Gate Bridge on clear days. We meet at the picnic tables between the Fitness Court and the Lake Merced Bridge on John Muir Drive at 6:00 p.m and set off shortly after. We walk 1.5 miles to the Observation Deck at Fort Funston, where we tend to stop for a bit, chat, watch for dolphins and whales, gaze in awe at the hang gliders and paragliders flying overhead, and enjoy the golden hour (or admire the fog). The total distance is between 3 and 4 miles, depending on which route we take back. The weather can be anything from warm and sunny to cold and windy, so it's best to wear layers. Agentic AI Hackathon: AWS Community Day Bay Area 2026

Build an agent that does real work on AWS. Two weeks. One track. Eight teams demo live on stage at AWS Community Day in front of 500+ builders. Upcycle Social in person At Moodswing: Sew/ Arts/Finish it/Fix It!

Join the Upcycle Alameda community for some creative upcycling. Social sewists, artists, crafters, and Fix it folks: repair, repurpose, re-create. Now is a great time to finish old projects. You provide the elbow grease; we'll provide the moral support. Maria will be closing her vintage shop Moodswing and has invited us to visit and get creative together. There will be free things, a swap area… Bring food or drink if you can! (Some folks are vegetarian or vegan) We now have a donate button!
