We will walk around the haunted hayride to check it out. Walk is easy walk less than 1 mile. We are NOT going on the rides or inside. We will walk on trail that goes around it. They usually charge for parking so tell them you are here for a hike and not a customer of the ride. We will meet in front of the merry go round. We will wait 15 or so minutes.

Halloween 2026 Night Hike #2 (Oct/17)

Note: We have three Halloween night hikes on the calendar this year. Locations are different, but the content I present will be more or less the same. If the attendance list is full for your preferred night, please join the wait-list. I'm almost always able to accommodate everyone as the weekend approaches. **Overview:** Spooky season is upon us so let's celebrate all of the creepy-crawlies and things that go bump in the night with an hike in Whittier Narrows Recreation Park. This event will be part hiking and part "ghost stories". The hike will start while it's still a bit light, giving us the opportunity to see the diurnal animals settle down for the evening, and the nocturnal animals begin to stir. We'll pay special attention to any silhouettes in the treetops, and listening for call from owls, coyotes, frogs, and insects. After returning to our meeting spot, we'll sit around a faux campfire and share tales of spookiness we've encountered while out hiking. Please bring a blanket or chair in case we don't have enough picnic tables. Feel free to bring refreshments, and if you brink enough to share, even better! And if you like, please come in costume as long as it doesn't interfere with easy hiking. I'm classifying this hike as beginner. Total distance is about three miles, with little elevation gain. OG Toluca Lake 5 mile-ish urban Halloween adventure walk!!!

Back for our 5th year !!! The Urban-ish Adventurists which includes legendary walkers Lori and Joe (legends in their own minds) collectively known as "JOLO” invite you to explore a Halloween adventure in Toluca Lake. We will be doing a 5 mile-ish walk around Toluca Lake and surrounding areas . This will be first official walk of several designed for the Halloween season . Make sure you join us for a Toluca lake or Burbank seasonal walk as they are historically best Halloween houses in the City. For the initial walk and one other we will also be doing a pre walk happy hour as a separate posting join us to socialize before we start the walk . Both events will start at the park We do our best to keep the walk in a 2 hour range, however could go longer by a mile or so and sometimes goes over time posted. Comfortable shoes, water, flashlight and a good attitude are suggested items to bring but not required. Remember it is suggested you get a minimum 10,000 steps a day. We can all achieve that healthy goal together. We help motivate each other. Come out to walk and socialize with nice friendly people and experience a good workout at the same time. Hope to see you at our next urban-ish walking adventure.
