From Columbus Salsa Dancing Group

Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**! The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off! The Completely Series - (A.M.) Field Shoot - Franklin Park Conservatory

Franklin Park Conservatory opens at 10:00 am but we will plan to meet at 9:00 am to walk the grounds before going in (you will have to purchase your own ticket). These events on the schedule are to serve three purposes: 1. These will serve as field shoots targeted at The Completely Series homework. Generally, each of these shoots will focus on the homework assigned in the two prior weeks. So locations and topics will be picked to match those expectations. 2. Additionally, these events are to serve as placeholders for TIME OF DAY. They are intended to be modified as needed to capture SUNRISE and/or EARLY MORNING light. They will likely be modified to time out for the IDEAL light on that day, at that location. EXPECT THEM TO BE MODIFIED as the time of year changes and/or schedule conflicts occur. But THERE WILL BE at least one morning shoot per month. 3. Lastly, they are also to serve as semi-monthly morning shoots for the group as a whole. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN THE COMPLETELY SERIES to attend any of these morning field shoots. Locations and specifics will be updated as the event date approaches.

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 11 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Gallery Hop / Short North Photo walk and street shooting. OSU is playing Ball State at home at 12:30 pm so many fans may come to the Short North to celebrate. We typically walk North on one side of the street under we reach Standard Hall where we stop for a break...can you say food and drink?....and then make our way back south on the other side of the street. Join us as we get together for the fun summertime tradition of live outdoor theater! For this event, we’ll be closing out Summer Movie Season by seeing The Actors’ Theatre of Columbus and their take on the Agatha Christie classic mystery, AND THEN THERE WERE NONE! Here are details and our plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: The Actors’ Theatre of Columbus will close the summer and mark the 50th anniversary of Agatha Christie’s death with this haunting mystery! Under the evening sky, ten strangers in a mansion start dying one by one. Will there be any survivors? One of the late author’s most foreboding tales and a masterpiece of dramatic construction, the growing sense of dread and unfaltering tension will keep you guessing to the very end. PARKING: Schiller Park is a beautiful little park located in the heart of historic German Village. Parking is available in the paved lot at the Schiller Recreation Center or on city streets surrounding the park. WHAT TO BRING: Definitely bring a lawn chair. Food and drinks are allowed (and encouraged). If you’re feeling festive, bring snacks and/or drinks to share and I’ll do the same!
