UPDATE: Time changed from 1pm to 1:30pm. I’ve popped in and spoke with the Manager Rowena, 1:30pm works best for them with 6 of us attending.

The classic British Sunday Roast, you can't beat it, but you can eat it! And we shall at the Bear and Ragged Staff in Bransford.

Under the direction of Manager Rowena and Head Chef James, the team have brought fresh energy and quality dining to the heart of the Worcestershire countryside.

Mains include Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Pork Belly and a Nut Roast for the vegans among us. All finished with a classic dessert menu, all of which I'm pretty sure are homemade.
Not a carvery, Josie, each dish is cooked fresh with high quality locally sourced ingredients.
The Bear is not a chain pub, it is fully independantly owned and operated, and they even allow well behaved dogs.

Whilst being nestled away in the Worcestershire countryside, the Bear is only an easy 10 minute drive from Junction 7 of the M5.

I’ve eaten here twice already this year, both times were excellent. But I’ve not tried their Sunday menu, which I’ve heard is fantastic, so I thought we could give it a go.

UPDATE: I've popped in on my lunch break, spoken to the manager Jess and have been able to up the attendee number to 8.
Also, time changed from 7:30pm to 7:20pm, this is just because of their booking system that works in 20min blocks, so the options were 7:00, 7:20, 7:40, 8:00 etc etc

Let’s take a tasty trip through time at one of the oldest establishments in Worcester City Centre. Built in 1577 the King Charles House is steeped in history, serving civilians since the seventies. The 1970s that is, not the 1570s.

Throughout time the building has served many purposes, such as a guest house, a Judge's residence, an antique shop and a furniture shop. But it's main claim to fame is for being the headquarters of King Charles II during the Battle of Worcester 1651, the last major battle of the English Civil War.

But we're not attending this legendary eatery for a history lesson, we're going for the fantastic food. Renowned for their homemade Pies with Mash, the menu also includes many a traditional pub classic such as Bangers & Mash, Fish & Chips, Lamb Shank and Steak.
Vegan options are also available.

Back to where it all began. Given the success of our very first event I thought we would re-visit The Danesbury, to feast once again on their succulent steaks and sumptuous sides. Don’t worry, I’m not running out of ideas 😉.

Respected and renowned Head Chef Harry Milbourne and team would love to welcome us back (I hope so) to their exceptional, exquisite eatery for a nutritious November night.

Whilst Thursday nights are their Steak Night, the full a la carte menu will still be available, with some tasty looking vegan and vegetarian options for the non-carnivores in the group.

I'll book the table 1 - 2 weeks before the event. A message will go out to all on the attendee list around that time, in which a reply will be required to confirm your attendance. If you don't respond and there are responsive members on the waitlist, they will take your place.

Our gastronomic world adventure continues, around Worcester city centre, with our first foray into Thai cuisine at Thai on 7evern in Sidbury.

Opening its doors donkey's year ago, Thai on 7evern has remained a staple ingredient in Worcester's burgeoning culinery scene, serving delicious Thai food to hungry mouths for many moons.

This is the only restaurant for the dining club that I have not tried before. Though a few members have assured me of its excellence, so I thought we could give it a go.

Currently rated 4.7 on both Google and Tripadvisor, Thai on 7evern offers an authentic and generous menu containing many classic Thai dishes and curries. There really is something for everyone, even fussy gits like me!
