Meet time: 6:40 PM in the lobby (so weâre seated before trailers)
Bi Gan makes movies that feel like youâre half-awake â like the screen is remembering something you forgot.
Resurrection is set in a future where dreaming has basically been outlawed (because dreams are âdangerousâ to the system). A woman is sent to track down people who are âinfectedâ by dream-viruses, and the deeper she goes, the more the film becomes a haunted museum of cinema itself: love stories, nightmares, old movie ghosts, and the feeling that reality is getting softer around the edges.
This is the kind of film you donât want to watch alone and then immediately go home. Itâs built for the moment right after the credits when everyone turns to each other and goes:
âOkay⌠what did you think that meant?â
How weâll do it
- Meet in the lobby, go in together, watch as a group.
- After the film: optional 20â30 min cafĂŠ debrief nearby (best image you canât shake + one theory youâre willing to defend).
