About us

Truro Rainbow is a gentle, welcoming LGBTQ+ community space for people who enjoy low‑pressure, thoughtful, and quietly sociable activities.
We create moments of calm connection — from shared reading hours in the park to our LGBTQ+ Book Club, from Paperback Picnics to small cultural or creative meet‑ups. Nothing here is high‑stakes or high‑energy. You can join in fully, or simply sit nearby and enjoy the company of others.

Our ethos is simple:

  • No pressure — come as you are, leave when you need to
  • Introvert‑friendly — shared solitude is a valid form of community
  • Queer‑affirming — all LGBTQ+ identities and allies welcome
  • Local and rooted — celebrating Truro, its parks, its culture, and its people
  • Gentle connection — small gatherings, warm atmosphere, no forced interaction

Whether you want an excuse to finally read that book you’ve been putting off, a quiet hour in the park with other LGBTQ+ folk, or a friendly book discussion once a month, you’ll find a space here.

Truro Rainbow is an umbrella for several ongoing activities, including:

  • The Truro LGBTQ+ Book Club
  • Paperback Picnics / Bandstand Reading Hours — reading together before the Sunday concerts
  • And other small, thoughtful events as the community grows

If you’re looking for a calm, kind, and quietly joyful LGBTQ+ community in Truro, you’re in the right place.

The 313 Club — Lesbian Coffee Morning

The 313 Club — Lesbian Coffee Morning

Buttermarket, Station Hill, Redruth, GB

Introducing The 313 Club — Truro Rainbow’s new lesbian coffee evening, hosted at the Buttermarket, Redruth.

Think of it as a small pause in the week: a warm table, a good coffee, something comforting to eat, and the company of women who understand what it means to live and love in our community. It’s a place to talk, to laugh, to share stories, or simply to sit and feel part of something.

The Buttermarket gives us the perfect backdrop — friendly, familiar, and relaxed. You can drop in for ten minutes or stay for an hour. The 313 Club is about connection, not performance; belonging, not bravado.

If you’ve been hoping for a space where lesbian lives are the centre rather than the margin, this is it.

We're looking forward to seeing you there.
