What we’re about
We are a group who gathers in-person and online to play tabletop board games that we love or want to learn! These games are more complex than traditional family games like Monopoly or Clue - think Settlers of Catan, Dominion, Sagrada, 7 Wonders, Wingspan and Grand Austria Hotel.
We are based in Stamford, but you can be from anywhere to play online with us! When we meet in person, anyone willing to come meet in Stamford, CT is welcome.

Board Games & Crokinole @ Glenbrook Athletic Club
Glenbrook Athletic Club, 937 Hope St, Stamford, CT, USIf you enjoy games like Wingspan and Azul, you're in the right place! They are a great baseline for the modern strategy games our group gravitates towards. Thursdays at this venue are especially well-suited for longer and more complex games, so feel free to bring them!
First time joining us?
Welcome! We're excited to have you. When you arrive, please find an organizer so we can help you get settled. The best time to get into a game immediately is between 6:30 and 7:00 PM. If you arrive later, don't worry! Open seats are first-come, first-served, and you may just have a small wait for the next game to begin.
Venue:
The Glenbrook Athletic Club (GAC) located at 937 Hope St, Stamford is a private club for members only, we are renting a room from them. Enter through the door on the right from the main door which should be open.
This event is free to attend but, we do have to pay rent of $100 per night. To cover this cost, we rely on attendee donations. A suggested donation of $6 per person helps us break even, but any amount is greatly appreciated! If you are not able to donate, we understand, we still would love you to come and participate.
Parking:
Park in any spaces that are unmarked, or reserved for GAC, Elks or US Computer Connection. More details and pics: https://www.meetup.com/stamford-board-games-group/photos/35375448
Venue Rules:
- No Smoking or Vaping at all indoor locations.
- No outside alcoholic beverages are allowed. This is a matter of their liquor license. Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks (like water or soda) are permitted. We have snacks available and restaurants deliver.
- Clean up after yourself, return glasses to the bar, throw trash away, and leave the space as you found it.
Other information:
We partner with the Connecticut Crokinole Club, they are not there every Thursday but come often and set up on luxurious Tracey boards. If you never played, this is a unique opportunity to try it out. More details here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/370206829241209.
To ensure our community remains a fun and respectful place for everyone, our organizers are here to help resolve any issues. If you experience or witness a problem, please bring it to an organizer's attention privately. We handle all concerns discreetly, typically starting with a simple conversation. To protect the group, serious or repeated issues may result in a member being asked not to return.
We look forward to seeing you there!3 attendees
