About us
Love the animals? Love to eat? Let’s get together for some good food and conversation.
We welcome all people into our group, regardless of diet or lifestyle choice. That said, all events will be vegan (no meat, fish, eggs, dairy, gelatin, honey, etc.) , and we ask that you respect that. We’re more than happy to share and educate vegetarians and omnivores about our lifestyle. Anti-vegan trolls will be removed from the group.
Event organizers maintain the right to host events in whatever manner they choose (within group guidelines). If you have an idea for how to make events better, please know the difference between making helpful suggestions and being a pestering know-it-all. No one wants to be that person 😬
This is not an activism group. While we all have our own preferred ways of showing love to the animals and the planet, rallies and protests are prohibited as formal meetup events for this group for legal and liability reasons. Environmental clean ups, nature walks, animal sanctuary visits, and general fundraising or volunteering is okay.
We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable at our events. Please speak to your host or one of our organizers if you feel unsafe. Here is our anti-harassment policy which gives more detail: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14qTqYdaQmMGvbhYunHbZIxmO_bA3rd4ygDjrO2azBno
Individual event hosts are solely responsible for the events they host under this Meetup group. The group organizers do not organize, oversee, or endorse specific events unless explicitly stated. NO SHOW POLICY
Restaurant MeetUps
- If you no-show, you will be flagged as a no-show on that event’s attendee history and automatically waitlisted for your next restaurant meetup RSVP.
- A second restaurant no-show, and I’ll have to remove you from the group.
General MeetUps (picnics, potlucks, hikes, etc.)
- No-shows will be flagged in event history.
- 3 no-shows, and you’ll be removed from the group.
What is a no show?
- Not showing up to the event without telling anyone you no longer plan to go.
- Being considerably late to a restaurant MeetUp without notice. If an event has already been going on for more than 30 minutes and you have not told anyone that you’ll be late, that is considered a no-show. Restaurants reserve tables for us, and we will give away our tables if we don’t hear from you.
- We understand that plans change and things come up. That said, an RSVP is a commitment to showing up, not a “maybe.” It takes just seconds to update an RSVP or message the organizer if you can’t or don’t want to come anymore or to let someone know you’re running late.
Be respectful to local businesses who go out of their way to accommodate our large groups, not to mention fellow group members who are on the waitlist! If you take a moment to update the organizer with your plans, you won’t have to worry about anything above!
