Santa Cruz Hikes with Dogs Meetup

Branciforte Creek Trail is about 3 miles with some steep climbs. Meet in the PAVED PARKING LOT between the Twisted Tree Picnic Area/Volleyball court, and the bathroom. The Creek Trail does include Branciforte Creek where the dogs can run and play, so bring a towel and/or a car seat cover, and be ready to bring home a dirty but happy dog.

Dogs must be kept on leash no longer than 6 feet (no flex leads) and off of the athletic fields per Park rules.

Please update your RSVP by 9:00 AM if your plans change so we don't stand around waiting for you to show up. We will hit the trails at 10:15 AM or sooner if everyone is there, so be prompt or you will be walking alone. RSVP closes at 9 AM day of the walk. Three No-Shows and you will be dropped from the group.

Dogs must be vaccinated, licensed and non-aggressive.

As always, donations to fund this Meetup group are appreciated. The host is currently footing the $360 per year Meetup fees, and would appreciate donations to help cover this expense. Thanks!

HI DOG AND PEOPLE WALKERS

Lets go get some sun on our faces, breathe some fresh sea air and stretch our legs.

Walk as far as you want on the beach then turn around and go back.

Directions!! MEET AT HIDDEN BEACH PLAYGROUND PARKING LOT. The address is 660 Cliff Drive, Aptos, CA 95003. We will walk to the beach from there together.

THE PARKING LOT IS SMALL BUT YOU CAN ALSO PARK ON SUMNER AVENUE (the street before Townsend) near the train trestle and walk to the parking lot. On Sumner Ave, after you get to a PUD development and pass both Dry Creek Roads, Sumner starts to narrow and you should find other parked cars, that is where you park. You will walk under the train trestle to Hidden Beach parking lot and you should find us there. Call me if you have a problem. 408-390-4455. Plan an extra 10 minutes to park. Dogs must be vaccinated, licensed and get along with other dogs and people. Please NO flexi-leads.

If your plans change, please update your RSVP by 9:00 AM the morning of the walk. Three No-Shows and you will be removed from the group. We will hit the trail at 10:15 AM so if you are late, you will be walking alone.

Meetup charges $358 per year to use their website. It comes out of my checking account. If you can make a small contribution to help me cover this expense, it would be greatly appreciated. I may need to close this group or find a new host, because this fee has become a burden for me as I am now retired.

We will walk around Twin Lakes and Seabright Beaches on the east side of Santa Cruz. We will visit the Walton lighthouse and end on Seabright beach to watch the sunset. Please bring enough water for both you and your dog.
Dog lovers that are non-owners are WELCOMED. Just bring yourself, a guest, and your love for dogs.
We will be meeting outside of Seabright Social Brewpub and start walking towards the beach. Parking is available outside at the back of this venue.
