Welcome to the Central Florida Backgammon Group!
What is this group?
We meet weekly at restaurants and bars in Sanford and North Orlando to hang out and play backgammon. We're a mix of casual backgammon players and more competitive players. All are welcome!
Do I need to be good at backgammon to join?
You don't need any previous experience, just a knowledge of the rules and a desire to meet new people, have fun, and challenge your backgammon skills.
What sort of meetings do you have?
Most of our meetings involve casual games and socializing. Every 6 weeks we offer special tutoring sessions for those who want to improve their game. Every 3 months we hold a club tournament for those who want to compete against the best.

Backgammon Chouette / Team Game
Brewlando Sanford, 400 Sanford ave, Sanford, FL, USThis is your chance to combine your love of backgammon with your desire for socializing. A chouette is a team backgammon game, essentially a "king of the hill" for backgammon. One player (called the box) plays against a team of the rest of the players, and remains box as long as the box keeps winning. When the box loses, the box goes to the end of the line and the captain of the team becomes the new box. While most chouettes are for money, we play just for fun.
This is a great game regardless of your skill level. The better players can make suggestions, the weaker players might learn from them. But after hearing all the advice, the captain makes the final decisions! Can the wisdom of the crowd dethrone the king?
