About us
The RVA Software Development User Group was formed to help bring new or different patterns, technology stacks, tools and languages from our community of developers to students and other developers of all skill levels. While there will be occasions for advanced level presentations, the bulk of presentations will be delivered so that students, entry level developers or developers with no experience in the technology being presented, will benefit from the topics covered.
The focus of the group is software development in more of a polyglot manner, the group will have presentations on a variety of tools, languages and platforms including C#, Java, PHP, MySQL, MongoDB, MS SQL Server, jQuery and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, Node.Js and Knockout. Our goal is to introduce as much of a variety as we reasonably can.
The speakers for this group are local and regional developers with a passion for technology as well as sharing knowledge with fellow developers.
In addition to monthly User Group meetings we will provide occasional weekend boot camps where we will build entire working prototypes of various solutions as to facilitate deeper dives into various technologies.

Replace Your Boring Workflows with n8n
Ippon Technologies, 3431 W Leigh St, Richmond, VA, USTired of having to update your scripts or workflows for each major update of the software or API. Have boring, simple, repetitive tasks at work that you hate doing every day?
Enter: n8n! n8n is a low-code open-source tool in the vein of. Low-code tools give you the flexibility of design 99% of your workflow with GUI tooling and 1% with Python and JavaScript if need be. You also have (with API keys) access to your favorite models to super-charge your workflows as needed. n8n allows you to connect directly to services like Google Sheets, Outlook, Slack, Teams, Zoom, Google Calendar, Notion, Dropbox, and Todoist. If there isn't an integration for a service you use, you can build your own (or use a myriad of HTTP Requests).
In this workshop, we will learn to use n8n, an open-source low-code tool (with over 500 integrations) to build our workflows. n8n offers a generous free trial and a community version you can self-host for free (outside the scope of the workshop, but doable).
***For AI use, you may need to create an account on your favorite platform and obtain an API key, which allows you to use AI with your tools.
