About us
This is a group for Millennials/Gen Y folks who want to get out around Portland and meet more people. As one of the group's organizers (Hi, I'm Jay [they/them]!), this group has helped to create friendships and community for myself and others. Follow us on Instagram (@portlandmillennialsmeetup) for more happenings around Portland beyond our events.
I strive toward planning low-barrier and inclusive events, meaning that people of all backgrounds and abilities can participate. I look for opportunities for low cost and alcohol-free activities. Unfortunately, option can be limited by weather and venues suitable for our size group to hang out. I encourage anyone in the community who is interested in planning additional events to contact me. More organizers and more events are very welcome!
The values of this group are anti-racist and welcoming to people of all genders, sexual orientations, cultures, abilities, and neurodivergence. I try to approach conflict with curiosity and encourage the practice of "calling in" someone in response to a prejudiced comment, but harassment or disrespectful behavior is not tolerated.
The group's age demographic provides a common ground for building community within our cohort. Please reach out if you fall outside of Gen Y and are having trouble finding meetup groups.
A few more guidelines: If you sign up for an event, please try to keep to your commitment. If your plans change at any time, you should change your RSVP status. Members who have been inactive (i.e. haven't visited the website) for 3+ years will be removed from the group, but can rejoin at any time.
Wait lists: Some events fill up fast, but please join the wait list if you're interested in coming. People often get moved off the wait list. If there's a long wait list, I'll know to host a similar event soon.

Trivia @ Bissell Brothers
Bissell Brothers, 38 Resurgam Pl, Portland, ME, USBissell Brothers is hosting trivia at its Thompson Point taproom. Meet us at 5:40pm so we can grab tables and settle in before trivia starts. Team limit is 6 people. If there's a big wait list we can start a second team. This Jeopardy! Bar League trivia.
Bissell serves mostly beer but they also have soda, cider, wine, and hard seltzer. Food served until 7:30pm, menu here.
Transportation: Bissell Brothers is at Thompson Point which is walkable, bikable, or bus-able from the peninsula. If you drive, please note that Thompson Point is 24/7 paid parking managed by a private company (they will ticket). "You Can See Everything" @ Nickelodeon Cinemas
Nickelodeon Cinemas (Patriot Cinemas), 1 Temple St, Portland, ME 04101, USA, Portland, ME, USLet's meet up to see the much discussed documentary You Can See Everything at the Nickelodeon. Movie times for Saturday are TBA, but we will go to a late matinee sometime between 3:30-4:30. I'll update here when movie times are announced and when we'll be meeting. We'll meet outside the theater in Lobsterman Park. We don't need to get tickets ahead of time.

Maine Needs is a grassroots organization, powered by a growing collective of volunteers. Our aim is to help individuals and families in Maine meet their basic, material needs by providing donated clothing, hygiene products, household items etc.

Bingo for a Cause @ Definitive Brewing
Definitive Brewing Company, 35 Industrial Way, Portland, ME, USBingo and brews! Join us at Definitive Brewing in Portland to hang out and hopefully win some prizes. We'll meet at 5:30pm and bingo starts at 6pm. Definitive is partnering with Minnis Sanctuary for this bingo night, and 20% of draught sales from bingo will be donated to Minnis Sanctuary.
Definitive has various beers listed here. They have a couple non-alcoholic options and simple snacks for sale like chips. You can carry-in food if you want something more substantial. Foundation Brewing is next door and has takeout pizza and other food.
Transportation/Parking: Carpooling is encouraged. Bus 2 comes close to the brewery from downtown Portland. Definitive has a parking lot.
