In this memoir, Bourdain pulls back the curtain on life inside professional kitchens — the grind, the adrenaline, the bad decisions, the ego, the camaraderie, and the weird mix of dysfunction and love that keeps people coming back to it anyway. It’s sharp, funny, blunt in a unique way, and full of stories that feel equal parts unhinged and oddly heartfelt.
