About us
I'm looking to make this a regular get together for both new hikers and experienced hikers alike. The main benefit of this group is that all hikes will be easily accessible by transit, or by signing up for carpooling. This group makes it easy to meet new people, and we have lots of friendly social conversations and chat on our hikes. Whether you're looking to join us for a specific event, or to be a reoccurring attendee to make new friends, this group is for you!
Event Difficulty Ratings: (Viewable in the Event Descriptions)
Easy: Elevation 0 to 150 meters
Intermediate: Elevation 150 to 500 meters
Intermediate+ Elevation 500 to 1000 meters
Hard: 1000 to 2000 meters
Very Hard: 2000+ meters
Maximum 3 No-Shows:
1. After 3 no-shows → removal from group
2. Attendees who consistently change their RSVP's to not going in a roughly: 1 (going) to 4 (not going) ratio → counted as a no-show
3. We don't cancel events due to weather unless the organizer feels there's a safety risk. We go regardless of sun/rain/light snow. Asking if the event is cancelled in the comments section, or posting that you're not going → removal from group (increases no-shows of members)
4. RSVP changes should be made prior to 24 hours before an event
Group Safety:
*Event Descriptions are updated for every event. They'll let you know if you need to pack more, or if you can pack less. This benefits you to know.
*Read the Event Description to see what you need to bring to each Event.
*Different Event Organizers can enforce different rules more strictly or not at all depending on what they feel comfortable with, and depending on the difficulty of the Event.
*Always bring up any safety concerns for you or others to the Event Organizer.
Finally, we look forward to seeing you on the trails, and at some of our optional after-events for food, coffee, drinks, and chat!
