What we’re about
Join us for events in the Chicago North Shore area - Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glenview, Northbrook and surrounding towns. (You don't have to live here to participate)
This is a new group, focused on getting out and meeting new friends. What kind of events? Whatever we find that is fun! Concerts, plays, happy hours, dining out.
I am brand new to the area but I organized a group just like this in Carmel Indiana. We'll make it fun!
And help me find a new cover picture for the group! This was all I could think of that exemplified the North Shore but there has got to be something better!

See all- Mount Prospect Block Party feat. SIXTEEN CANDLES! Friday July 25, 6:30 pmVillage of Mount Prospect Village Hall, Mount Prospect, IL
I'm so excited! Come join us for a great time with Chicago's best 80's band Sixteen Candles! Friday July 25th! We'll meet at 6:30 and wander around for a while to get food and drink! We can then watch Old School (another oldies band) before Sixteen Candles starts at 9:00!
The event website is really good - information is found here including a good map. I will get there early and post where we are meeting. It will probably be around the intersection of Emerson and Busse.
I will be bringing my portable chair, in the hopes that there will be an area where we can use them. However it is possible that this will be a "standing only" concert so keep that in mind. Remember no outside food or drink (other than water) is allowed. There is no limit on attendees so bring your friends!
From the website:
- The stage is located on Centennial Green, on the main Village Hall sidewalk, facing south. The jumbotron screen next to the Village Hall building, faces east. The jumbotron will have live broadcasts of the music performances and share key event information throughout the weekend.
- BEVERAGES ON BUSSE will be home to the beer and alcohol tents, with ID check/wrist banding at the corner of Emerson and Busse. Learn more about our alcoholic beverage options.
- PICNIC IN THE PARK features the Downtown Block Party's food options, situated along the pathway in the Busse Pocket Park. Enjoy local dining in a shaded, comfortable setting, with table seating in adjacent Emerson Street or Busse Ave.
