Join us at Centennial Commons in Royal Oak for a co-creative afternoon of rhythm, community, and traditional West African djembe music.
This interactive lesson is facilitated by passionate students who have studied with experienced teachers in both the U.S. and Guinea, West Africa.
You'll learn:- Basic djembe playing techniques
- Traditional West African rhythms
- The oral histories and cultural context behind the music
- How to play together as a percussive ensemble
No experience necessary. Beginners are welcome.
