About us
Want to walk on the Malvern Hills in a friendly group of
like-minded local people? Join us on evening and weekend walks.
Our group enables hillwalkers across Worcestershire and the immediate counties to enjoy walking the hills together, always with a coffee shop or pub involved. We keep fit, make friends, and have a lot of fun. It’s that simple.
All walks include several steep climbs and descents. While we do take breathers, you must feel confident you’re fit enough to achieve this. Our weekend hill walks tend to be around 5 miles long while our evening hill walks are a little shorter (3+ miles). We also host all-day walks from time to time.
We welcome all ages. Most people are somewhere between mid-forties and early sixties, but we have regulars either side of this.
Please pay £2.50 per standard event (and pay via PayPal as you book). 100% goes towards the Meetup platform fee (almost £400/year). Beyond that, we donate every penny to a nominated local charity.
Do join us soon. You’ll be glad you did.
Important: our terms and conditions
1. Please ensure you’re fit enough to complete a walk with several steep climbs. While we’re supportive of those getting fitter, we may suggest you join an easier walking group if you’re persistently slow. It’s not personal, and this may be a better option for you too.
2. You’re responsible for your own safety. We’ll do our best to look after you, though.
3. Please pay the stated walk fee as you book (payment is via PayPal only).
We reserve the right to remove non-payers from the walk.
5. If we cancel the walk, we’ll refund you.
If you don’t turn up, we won’t. But your payment will go to charity.
6. We generally don’t accept dogs on our walks.
7. We run a friendly, safe, and supportive community. We may ask you to leave the group if:
- Your behaviour is detrimental to our community
- You repeatedly cancel your booking at the last minute (even if paid)
- Your walking pace repeatedly slows the group down (don’t worry, we all have off days)

The two Beacons walk (with picnic)
Gardiner's Quarry Car Park, Jubilee Drive, Malvern, GBStarting at Gardiners Quarry, we'll do a longer, circular walk that takes in both British Camp (Herefordshire Beacon) and Worcestershire Beacon. We'll have a picnic somewhere in the middle.
Parking is at Gardiners Quarry car park. £6.00 unless you have a season ticket: WR13 6DN.
We're asking for a £2.50 contribution to attend this event. Please pay as you book. You’re welcome to bring a guest but please pay £2.50 for them too.
How to pay:
Please pay via PayPal as you sign up.
** Use the following link: https://www.paypal.me/danwebb1 **
Select Friends and Family payment (it’s on the page where you choose your payment method), then we don’t get charged commission. Please also add the event date as your reference, then we know what you’re booking.
All payments go towards running the group on Meetup. Once recovered, we give everything to charity.
Things you need to know:
1. We’re very friendly. Come on your own and you’ll soon be chatting with others. While we have many regular walkers, most events include first-timers.
2. If you book an event then can’t go, please message us in “event chat”. Otherwise, we’ll all be waiting for you unnecessarily. We won’t refund your £2.50, but it will go to a worthy local charity.
2. We don't allow dogs on our walks. We have dogs ourselves, but not everyone’s keen. We tried a few “dogs welcome” walks and there was almost no take-up. So, for now, no dogs please.
3. The Malvern area is hilly, on and off the hills. You must decide whether you’re comfortable with the location of the event. If you’re looking to get fitter, we’ll support you, and we do stop for breaks when necessary. If you want more details about a specific event, please message Dan or Anna beforehand – we’re always happy to help.
4. We run this group voluntarily and informally. Just for fun. While we do our best to look after everyone, you’re responsible for your safety.

Things worth knowing
1. We’re very friendly. Come on your own and you’ll soon be chatting with others. And while we have many regular attendees, almost every walk includes first-timers too. We welcome single people, those whose partners don’t wish to walk, and couples.
2. Please arrive ahead of the start time. We typically wait for five minutes, but beyond that, we’ll start the walk.
3. Please pay when you book. We reserve the right to move you to the waiting list if you haven’t paid. And this may mean you miss out on your place if someone jumps in ahead of you.
4. As a rule, we don’t allow dogs on our walks. It’s just easier.
5. The Malvern Hills are… hilly. EVERY walk will include several steep climbs and descents, so you must have sufficient fitness to achieve this level of walking at a steady pace. While we’re not super-fast, and do stop for breaks, it’s frustrating for you and others if we keep having to wait for you. If you want more detail about a specific walk, please message us beforehand as we’re always happy to help.
6. We run this group voluntarily, just for fun. And we have a lot of it. While we aim to look after everyone, you are responsible for your own safety when walking with us.
