What we’re about

This is a book group devoted to classic literature. Together we read and discuss novels from the time period 1700-1960.

We believe in the value of books, as well as the value of friendship and socializing. Our discussions are respectful and welcoming of all viewpoints. We want for everyone to participate and for no one to dominate the discussion. We make room for lots of laughter and fun.

Most of our meetings are held at the Park Hotel, and we ask participants to order a drink or dinner from the hotel's restaurant, The Post.

We meet every other month. To make it easier to attend, we have two sessions, which are on consecutive Monday evenings. Both sessions will discuss the same book. Please RSVP for only one of the two sessions.

Please keep your RSVP updated. If your plans change, that is completely okay -- just be sure to change your meetup RSVP accordingly prior to the meeting. A no-show can be grounds for being removed from the meetup group.

Please include in your member profile your name, and a picture with your face. It makes it easier to identify who is who at the meetings, especially if you are new to the group. We are a welcoming and social group and we want to get to know you!

"A work of art does not answer questions, it provokes them; and its essential meaning is in the tension between the contradictory answers." -- Leonard Bernstein
