Atheists Volunteer FOOD DISTRIBUTION! Come help and give out food!

[Atheists United](www.atheistsunited.org), California's largest grassroots atheist nonprofit, is fighting the emergency food crisis with our partners [Sunday Assembly Los Angeles](www.sundayassemblyla.com) by hosting a food distribution in Los Angeles outside our offices. We've partnered with the LA Food Bank and give out over 3,000lbs of food each event. **We need volunteers to help us assemble and organize food packages from 12pm - 5pm every third Friday.** From 3:30pm - 5pm volunteers will help hand food out directly to those in need in the neighborhood. From 5pm - 6pm we'll clean up and celebrate everything we accomplished together. Music and snacks will make it well worth your time. If you are not vaccinated you will be asked to leave immediately. **\*\*Parking:** Free parking for volunteers in our parking lot off Rampart Blvd behind the building. **\*\*Dress Code:** Safety requirements include: no open-toe/open-heel shoes or high heels. We recommend casual attire (jeans, t-shirt, light sweater, & tennis shoes). Please dress for the weather and wear sunscreen as needed. AU Food Distribution -- Volunteers Needed!

## Details [Atheists United](http://www.atheistsunited.org/), California's largest grassroots atheist nonprofit, hosts a food distribution in Los Angeles every month at our office building. We've partnered with the LA Food Bank and Sunday Assembly Los Angeles to give out over 4,000lbs of food each event. **We need volunteers to help us unload, sort, assemble, and give away grocery kits from 12pm - 5pm.** From 12pm - 3:30 we unload the truck, sort the food, and build the grocery kits. From 3:30pm - 5pm volunteers will help hand food out directly to those in need in the neighborhood. From 5pm - 6pm we'll clean up and celebrate everything we accomplished together at a local restaurant. Free snacks and drinks provided for all volunteers. If you'd like to be a super volunteer, contact us about showing up at 10am to help with early setup! **Food:** Snacks will be provided free for volunteers. We also usually buy lunch for everyone. After the event volunteers usually gather at a local restaurant to debrief. **Safety:** Safety vests, gloves, and masks are available for all volunteers. Our group includes people of very diverse backgrounds and writers at many different points of their career. I was initiated into Mrs. Takata-style Reiki by New York-based Reiki Master Pamela Miles. Reiki is a form of vibrational medicine - it comes through me as the practitioner, but I don’t direct it. It is deeply relaxing, very similar to a spa-like meditation experience. While you can expect me to hold your head, face and throat area at the beginning, I will hold my hands just above your body for all the other placements. For maximum relaxation you can lie on your back, but if you prefer, you can sit upright in a chair instead. **Teacher Bio:** Jacqueline Delibes is a HeartMath Certified Coach, artist, Reiki healer and healthcare writer for an academic medical center. **Class Description**: Open level class, combining several different disciplines. Including Hatha, Katonah, Vinyasa, as well as meditation and breathing practices. This class will leave you feeling energized, stronger and supported! **Teacher Bio**: I started learning more about yoga in 2016. I loved a space where I could move my body, but I was even more attracted to the mental component. Learning how to breathe through difficult poses or calm my mind when off balance was a transformative experience. To me, yoga is so much more than a physical practice! After years of being a student I decided to sign up for teacher training at my home studio, Love Yoga. This inclusive class allows you to calm the mind and focus on the strength of your breath and body, moving from an opening meditation and warm up, building into a flow and deeper into specific asanas completing with total relaxation. Great class for all levels from beginner to advanced. Teacher Bio: Kirstin H.S. completed her 200 hour YTT in Ubud,Bali with Zuna Yoga in 2019. She loves providing space to practitioners to take time for themselves and just simply breathe. Through “flow” yoga, Kirstin hopes to give a small reprieve to the anxious and stressful world we live in. Kirstin has been practicing yoga since 2004 and has learned the importance of yoga in cultivating balance, strength, and overall well-being. She loves sharing her knowledge and practice with others, especially those who are new to yoga. Vegan Foodbank Volunteer Day (Distributing Day)

The Vegans of LA Foodbank needs volunteers to help distribute food on this day. We are manadated by the LA county health dept to wear masks. Please arrive no later than 7:45am so that we can start on time and get our community back home and safe. You will be standing the entire time and directly interacting with over 300 individuals outside in a semi-fast paced but friendly environment.
