Build a Creative Life That Pays: The Art Career Blueprint That AI Can’t Replace
Sat, Jun 6, 4:30 PMIf you are an art major, a college student, recently laid off, or quietly wondering what your next move should be, this workshop is for you. In this meetup workshop, you gain access to 20+ years of real classroom experience and practical knowledge about building a stable, fulfilling, and well-paid career in art education. This is not theory or vague inspiration. It is clear guidance on how to teach at public schools, private schools, and the college level, what degrees you actually need, what credentials matter, how hiring works, and how to position yourself to stand out. If you are serious about your future, this is a shortcut. If you are simply curious, it may open a door you did not know was possible. Teaching art is not a backup plan; it is one of the most meaningful and future-secure paths an artist can take. Students need mentors, not algorithms. Schools need leaders who can build programs, inspire confidence, and create a real studio culture. This workshop also breaks down how to expand beyond the classroom through private lessons, selling artwork, online content, crowdfunding, and other art-based income streams. You will walk away with clarity, direction, and a realistic roadmap. For the price of a dinner out, you can gain insight that took two decades to build. Whether you are exploring or fully committed, this is an opportunity worth stepping into. https://www.mrsonartclass.com/ https://www.artofericson.com/

This class is essential for you. Speed up the learning process, “cut to the chase” and enroll in our new Sight Size measuring for the figurative artist and become a “Classical Illusionist” Painting the cast using Sight-Size develops the ability to see shapes and proportions accurately, by continuously comparing the drawn shapes with the cast. This class will develop the accuracy of drawing skills, the ability to correctly judge and paint values, and finesse transitional tones and edges to give the painting the illusion of three-dimensions. The three main objectives of this class: 1\. Drawing \- draw the shapes of the cast in correct proportion\, beginning with the big shapes then the smaller shapes\. 2\. Values\- Learn to correctly judge values by using 5\-7 tone scale which we will mix on the palette\. We will begin by first establishing the three major value relationships: the light shape\, the shadow shape and the background\. 3\. The Illusion of three\-dimensions: Finally we paint the transitional halftones and soften the edges of the form\. This step gives the painting three\-dimensional qualities\, and the form will take the 3D qualities of an object sitting in a space\. These are essential skills to have in your tool box as you move forward to painting portraits, still life, illustrations, etc. **What You'll Learn** Draw the shapes of the cast in correct proportion, beginning with the big shapes down to the small shapes. Learn to correctly judge values by using 5-7 tone scale. Learn to describe how light travels across the form (your cast) Turn and soften the edges of the form. Seems a bit complicated, but worth a shot, right? Take a photo of a specific scene that you are fond of, whether it's a downtown busy street, the ocean, a sweeping meadow, ect. and begin to understand its rhythm. Is it calm? frantic? Does it overlap in size and shape, is it warm or cool? Next, take your picture and crop it, blow it up, imagine it from a birds eye view. Starting to sound interesting? In this course with a working, professional artist, you will learn and develop a system of painting abstract imagery that will make your work grow leaps and bounds. Yeskel will explain the mesh between midcentury abstraction and realism and how it has evolved in today's art world. Learn to paint abstractly while staying in touch with traditional methods and techniques. **What you will learn** Learn a developed system of abstract painting Learn how to work with emotion, color, rhythm Learn how to maximize a provocative composition Learn to paint abstractly while staying in touch with traditional methods and techniques. Get an overview on building a body of abstract work for Gallery Representation **Both oil and acrylic painters welcome. Come and build your body of work... All levels welcome** You must bring your own materials. You can find the supply list for this class here ([https://www.klineacademy.com/supply-lists](https://www.klineacademy.com/supply-lists)) **Scott Yeskel** is an acclaimed oil painter who paints both representational and abstract cityscapes mostly of L.A. In the tradition of Diebenkorn, Richter and De Kooning. This juxtaposition leaves the work diverse on many levels. Yeskel's abstracts, layered in thick strokes of oil, speak of incorporeal places that harken back a mood or feeling from particular environments he has been. The representational work, on the other hand, leaves an impression of a snap shot gone by. The work is balanced, both focused yet off kilter, sharp yet skewed. His bold color choices mix with various muted hues to pull together truly contemporary views of urban sprawl, and modern living. **KLINE ACADEMY of FINE ART** **3264 Motor Ave, LA 90034 (near National)** **[www.klineacademy.com](https://www.klineacademy.com/)** **Contact Information:** Artist@Klineacademy.com Staff@Klineacademy.com Office Phone: (310) 837-7194
