Reception will include wine, snacks, and opportunities to paint your own art on recycled religious signage. RSVP: https://events.humanitix.com/infidel-art-exhibit-reception *** **Exhibition Title:** Infidel **Artist:** Erhan Us **Exhibition Dates:** June 1 – 15, 2026 **Reception:** Sunday, June 7, 2026 / 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM **Location:** Center For Inquiry / Atheists United [2535 W Temple St, Los Angeles] **Admission:** Free and open to the public by appointment, except the reception day. **Parking:** Free parking for up to 25 cars. First come first serve. *** **Conceptual Artist Erhan Us’s "Infidel" Exhibition Targets Religious Propaganda in Public Spaces** Los Angeles, CA — May 27, 2026 / "Infidel", a solo exhibition by conceptual artist and writer Erhan Us, will be on view from June 1 to June 15, 2026, at the Center for Inquiry West building, hosted by Atheists United. In this provocative body of work, Us radically reconstructs the religious propaganda signs that occupy American highways and public spaces. The exhibition will celebrate its opening with a public reception on Sunday, June 7, from 5 to 8 PM, and will include free wine and snacks **From Propaganda to Proof: The Occupation of Public Space** "Infidel" focuses on the unauthorized intrusion into the social sphere by tens of thousands of religious propaganda signs, predominantly Christ–centric, posted on US highways, overpasses, and telephone poles. Erhan Us defines these metal and plastic placards not merely as expressions of faith, but as ideological attempts to seize public space; gears in a larger propaganda machine that normalizes religious authority through constant repetition. The works in the exhibition were made possible through the direct interventions of the [Atheist Street Pirates](https://www.atheistsunited.org/streetpirates), a civil and secular counter–offensive initiative founded in 2021 under the umbrella of [Atheists United](https://atheistsunited.org/) in Los Angeles. By removing over 6,000 of these signs from public streets and donating hundreds to the artist, the group provided the raw material to transform propaganda into a contemporary art project. Featuring the original signs alongside their manipulated counterparts, the installations challenge viewers to move back and forth along the axis of belief and disbelief, questioning what is real. The exhibition prompts critical inquiries: *Who shapes our public spaces? Which messages are permitted to occupy them, and who do these spaces truly belong to?* The artist summarizes the core philosophy of the project in his exhibition text: *"These remnants are no longer tools of propaganda. They are now evidence. They are the physical traces, torn from public spaces, of how those guided by religion view themselves as superior to the rest of society. For if spaces belong to whichever ideology screams the loudest, the demagogues and manipulators will always win."* **About the Artist / Erhan Us** Born in Ankara in 1987, conceptual artist and writer Erhan Us is recognized for his multifaceted career spanning the international art world, academia, and communications. He holds undergraduate degrees in TH Management, Sociology, and Philosophy from Bilkent, Istanbul, and Anadolu Universities, and received his Master of Fine Arts [MFA] in Multidisciplinary Art from the prestigious Maryland Institute College of Art [MICA]. As the CEO of A.D. 1644 Marketing Group, Us has led pioneering marketing projects that garnered "Best Digital & Strategic Agency" accolades. He has served as president for 12 non–governmental organizations and associations, receiving multiple international honors for his leadership. The author of four books Digital Prestige, Status Quo, Polisopolis, and Overestimation and more than 80 articles, Us lectures on marketing and art, and presides over the Experimental Art Collective USA. A former Senior Curator of the Museum of Science Fiction, his artworks have been showcased in over 160 exhibitions across 27 countries, including 15 solo shows. **Contact:** For extra image requests, artist interviews, and media inquiries, please contact art@erhanus.com. Build a Creative Life That Pays: The Art Career Blueprint That AI Can’t Replace

Build a Creative Life That Pays: The Art Career Blueprint That AI Can’t Replace

If you are an art major, a college student, recently laid off, or quietly wondering what your next move should be, this workshop is for you. In this meetup workshop, you gain access to 20+ years of real classroom experience and practical knowledge about building a stable, fulfilling, and well-paid career in art education. This is not theory or vague inspiration. It is clear guidance on how to teach at public schools, private schools, and the college level, what degrees you actually need, what credentials matter, how hiring works, and how to position yourself to stand out. If you are serious about your future, this is a shortcut. If you are simply curious, it may open a door you did not know was possible. Teaching art is not a backup plan; it is one of the most meaningful and future-secure paths an artist can take. Students need mentors, not algorithms. Schools need leaders who can build programs, inspire confidence, and create a real studio culture. This workshop also breaks down how to expand beyond the classroom through private lessons, selling artwork, online content, crowdfunding, and other art-based income streams. You will walk away with clarity, direction, and a realistic roadmap. For the price of a dinner out, you can gain insight that took two decades to build. Whether you are exploring or fully committed, this is an opportunity worth stepping into.
