London 20 & 30s Community | The Great Friendship Project

On Wednesday evening, we’ll be celebrating one of the most special days of the year for us... International Friendship Day.

Yep, it’s an important day in our calendar - a chance to celebrate the power of social connection, the life-changing magic of making new friends, and to appreciate those special people in our lives we call friends

And with the weather warming up again, we’re once again marking the occasion with one of our famous summer picnics, filled with good vibes, and plenty of friendly new (and familiar) faces.

Over the evening, there’ll be the option to play some light-hearted park games like spikeball, frisbee, and football - but you're just as welcome to come along and unwind in the sunshine.

You’re also welcome to bring along any board games or card games to play, any snacks or drinks you want, and maybe something to sit on to stay comfy.

And then as the sun goes down and the temperature dips, we’ll head to a nearby pub to carry on the evening with anyone who wants to keep things going.

These picnics are always something a bit special, and sadly very rare, so we’d love for you to join us while the sunshine lasts.

N.B. Though please note this event is weather-dependent and so there's a possibility that this may be changed or cancelled, if the forecast deteriorates.

WHERE/WHEN WE WILL MEET

It's back! After a few months off, we're excited to be bringing back one of our most unique Friday night socials... our latest Monopoly Pub Race.

If you didn't join us back in April for the last one, this team game is an exciting hybrid of a photo hunt, a pub crawl and the famous family board game, Monopoly.

The game is played on a virtual board consisting of 30 pubs that are all within walking distance of each other in the heart of Central London.

These pubs have been split into sets of 3 pubs, that have each been allocated a colour (e.g. green, red, yellow etc.) with different purchase prices, much like on a real monopoly board.

The aim of the game is to race against the other teams to acquire pubs and be the first team to successfully accumulate two complete sets.

In order to claim a property, your team will need to visit a pub on the board and at least one member of your team must order a drink in the pub to purchase the property.

But this game isn't just about speed - it's about strategy as you will also be able to tactically “steal” properties from your rivals, as well as hinder them in their attempts to create sets.

And over the course of the game, you will be able to monitor the live board to help you track your progress, spot opportunities, and keep a watchful eye on your competitors.

If there is no clear winner when the time runs out, the team with the highest total property value will be crowned the champions, with great prizes up for grabs.

But of course, it is not just about the game - the evening will also provide you with a chance to connect with lots of like-minded 20s and 30s, whilst enjoying an unforgettable start to the weekend.

WHERE/WHEN

August is here, and to kick off the first weekend of peak summer, we’re back with another Social Walk and Pub Trip, exclusively for 20s and 30s.

And for this latest Sunday walk, we’ll be once again visiting one of the most popular walking spots in East London, Greenwich Park.

As always, before heading off on the hike, you'll be allocated a group/team for an initial mix of fun and light-hearted games to help break the ice and help you get to know your fellow walkers a little better.

After the games and everyone is warmed up for walk, we’ll then set off on our 2-3 hour hike through some of south east London's most popular hiking spots.

From the green bushy pastures of Blackheath, we will wander into Greenwich Park taking in some of the most famous views overlooking London and the Old Royal Observatory along the way.

We will then venture past the historic sailing ship, the Cutty Sark, through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel and along the canals of the Isle of Dogs to Canary Wharf.

When we've reached Canary Wharf, we will then finish up at a pub nearby where you can grab a drink, play some games and get to know your fellow hikers a bit better.

As always, owing to the size of the venue, we will be having to cap numbers for this event, and so do make sure you nab your place as soon as you can!

WHERE/WHEN WE WILL MEET

We don’t do boring Wednesdays - and on 6th August, we’ll be cranking things up with something a little bit special with our first ever "Boots Up".

Yep, that’s right - for one night only, we’ll be having our very own country-style line dancing hoedown, exclusively our community.

To make it happen, we’re partnering with the brilliant folks at Line Dance Fit to bring you an evening packed with music, movement, laughter, and plenty of feel-good vibes.

If you’ve never tried line dancing before - don’t worry, it’s fun, inclusive, and super easy to pick up.

You’ll follow simple, repeated steps (no partner required!) to upbeat country tracks, guided by an expert instructor who’ll keep things light, energetic, and beginner-friendly.

Not only is it a brilliant way to shake off the midweek slump, try something totally different, and meet friendly new faces - it also burns as many calories as a 30-45 minute run!

And once the dancing wraps up, there’ll be time to cool off and grab a drink with the rest of your new country crew.

This should be a great high-energy evening of social fun and best of all, you can join us for just £6.85pp!

So dust off your dancing boots (or just turn up in trainers – we don’t judge), and join us for this!

WHERE/WHEN

To start the event, we will be meeting at the venue from 7:30pm for drinks beforehand.

However, we'd ask that you arrive no later than 7:50pm, so that we can get the dancing started on time.
