About us
PROCEDURE
1. Read a good book (based off the assigned topic, genre, category, style, classification. The gamut will be literary but eclectic)
2. Meet up
3. Drink liberally (or not)
4. Talk about it
WHO?
Your race, gender, religion, or whatever, does not matter. Nor does your level of education or profession matter. However you are willing to read beyond (insert ironic author name here), (insert other snarky author name here) and (insert cheesy genre here). In short, . . . you will be willing to talk about books. Come and find out about reading as a collaborative process because the discussion enhances all of our understanding(s) to such a great degree.
WHY?
Because you think language and ideas are important? Because you miss college? What? . . . you never went? Who cares!!! Is English your second or third language? Then come!! You like to read good literature and stay up late talking about it. And best of all, . . . Because a book club should kick ass!!
THE PLAN: The Reverse Book Club is to meet every few weeks (subject to holidays and other catastrophes). This will suit the Book Junkies out there; they will get a fix at least once a month (aside from other book club addictions). However the location will not remain the same. It will ALTERNATE to different sides and parts of the of the city. This will result in some folks only coming monthly when it's closer (until they need to up the dosage).
THE LOCATION: As an organizer, . . . It will be far easier to have the same locations. But as far as in the spirit of enjoying life and coupled with experiencing the tales in the tomes, we will rove to varied locations. Pretty much it's a laundry list of Dive Bars all over the city. But also bookshops, antique stores, or even open air amphitheater's . As well as teahouses, diners or whatnot.
