Welcome! This is a group for making friends while exploring a diverse collection of hobbies and events in the Lehigh Valley. Arts & Crafts, Active/Outdoors, Food & Drinks, Trivia, Day Trips - we do a bit of everything! This is a co-ed/all ages group. We are not group for dating, or for discussing divisive issues such as religion or politics - this is a place to step away from that and connect with eachother on a human level.

🌕 Sturgeon Moon Paddle @ Leaser Lake - Kayak/SUP/Canoe

If you do not have your own boat/paddleboard, there is a rental company which may be able to accommodate - you will need to reach out directly to book here, I recently purchased one so will not be renting myself: https://leaserlake.com/

Please ensure you have equipment for paddling after dark - boat light, headlamp, PFD, whistle, launch permit.
All active/outdoor events are at your own risk. Meetup hosts are not professionals and you are liable for your own safety at all group events. Wearing your PFD is strongly advised
🌕Fun facts about the Sturgeon Moon!
The August full moon is traditionally named after the lake sturgeon, the largest freshwater fish in North America. Indigenous Algonquin and Anishinaabe peoples living around the Great Lakes found that these fish were most easily caught and most abundant during the month of August.
For the best viewing experience, look to the eastern sky on the evening of Thursday, August 27, shortly after sunset. The moon will appear full and brilliant to the naked eye for about two nights before and after its peak. Because of the partial eclipse, observers will see a large portion of the moon's surface take on a distinctive reddish-orange tint as it moves through the Earth's shadow.

Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival at Slatington Airport—the largest fall laser-lit hot air balloon, music, and balloon glow festival in North America!
We'll spend the evening exploring the festival grounds, enjoying live entertainment, grabbing delicious food from local vendors, and watching more than 20 colorful hot air balloons take to the skies (weather permitting). Keep an eye out for incredible specialty balloons, including an Alien, Pumpkin, Leopard, Pig, and the massive 110-foot-tall TAZ balloon!
As the sun sets, the festival transforms into a spectacular nighttime experience featuring Eastern Pennsylvania's only DJ Laser Light Balloon Glow, where illuminated balloons dance alongside a synchronized laser show.
To cap off the night, we'll enjoy an incredible Showtime Fireworks display that lights up the sky with a grand finale you won't want to miss!### Event Highlights
