Join Jefferson Humanists for our monthly program titled, Maria Von Trapp and the Story BehindThe Sound of Music, a portrayal by Elsa Wolff.
Matriarch of the Trapp Family Singers, Maria von Trapp (1905-1987) is a woman of passionate faith and uncompromising determination. From orphan to Baroness, she leads her family from being refugees to an internationally known singing group. Sharing memories from pre-WWII Austria to the 1965 release of The Sound of Music, you’ll learn the story of the Trapp Family and their journey to a new home in America. Step back in time to meet this funny, lively, and unforgettable woman via this entertaining Living History program. Lots of time for Q&A included.
Elsa Wolff, entertainer and educator, has been performing, teaching, singing and storytelling since 1997. As a performer, Elsa, also known as "The Guitar Lady" performs for elementary age children as well as senior citizens throughout the Denver area.
