What we’re about
I’ll Name This Book Club Later
Fiction that hurts a little, provokes a lot, and refuses easy answers.
This is a biweekly, remote book club for people who actually read the book and want to talk about it honestly.
We focus on fiction that grapples with real philosophical, psychological, moral, and social questions—stories that linger, unsettle, and force you to sit with ambiguity rather than hand you a neat moral at the end.

### What this book club is
Reading is mandatory. This isn’t a vibes-based discussion group.
Fiction with depth. Power, identity, love, violence, meaning, freedom, society.
Honest dialogue over performative politeness. Respect matters—but truth comes first.
A biweekly pace. Enough time to read thoughtfully, not rush.
***
### What this book club is not
Not a speed-reading challenge
Not a book summary circle
Not a place to dominate conversations or posture intellectually
Not a space where disagreement is treated as harm
Disagreement is expected. Curiosity is required.
***
### How books are chosen
To avoid only reading the most obvious or popular picks, book selection blends:
- Member nominations
- Light structure (rotation or chance-based selection)
- An emphasis on books we might not choose on popularity alone
The goal is discovery—not consensus.
***
### Who this is for
You’ll probably enjoy this group if you:
- Love fiction that leaves you uncomfortable in a productive way
- Enjoy thinking out loud and listening carefully
- Are open to having your interpretations challenged
- Believe stories are one of the best ways to explore philosophy without lectures
You don’t need a literature degree. You do need to read.
***
### Logistics & Format
- Biweekly meetings
- Likely weekend mornings (around 10–12)
(Monday evenings may be used as a backup) - 60–90 minute discussions
- Remote/online meetings
Details for the first meeting and book selection will be posted soon.

I'll Name This Bookclub Later - Discussion #1
Location not specified yet## 📖 Never Let Me Go — First Discussion Meeting
We’re excited to kick things off with our first discussion.
Book: Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
A quiet, haunting novel that explores identity, love, memory, and morality—and one that tends to stay with readers long after they finish.

Please come having read Chapters 1–9.
***
This first meeting will be relaxed and conversational. We’ll start with brief introductions, then move into an open discussion of the reading—no pressure to have polished takes or “right” answers.
If you’ve read the chapters and are curious to hear how others experienced the book, you’re in the right place.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Looking forward to our first conversation together.5 attendees
