Hemel Social is a friendly social & friendship group who welcomes all. Maybe you're new to the area, kids have flown the nest, had a change in circumstances or you just want to get out more, try new things or places & make some more friends. Join us if you want to meet new people, socialise, make new friends, have fun & try new things.
Don't be shy take the plunge & you'll soon make friends & have an improved & active social life. We hold multiple events every week.
Social activities could include meeting for coffee, drinks, eating out, pub nights, live music, dancing, theme nights, cinema, theatre, comedy, arts & crafts, day trips, race days, bowling, quiz nights, games, book club, walks, picnics, afternoon tea, escape rooms, disc/footgolf, bike rides, skating, trampolining, snowboarding or any other sports & leisure activities, museums, galleries, day trips, charity events and much more. Events can be daytime, evening, midweek or weekends in the local area or beyond. Members are also encouraged to host events. The more event hosts we have the more events there will be for you to attend. You don't have to host loads of events just once or twice a year would help. Contact one of the organisers if you are interested & want help with this.

Cuppa, Cake & Chat or Brunch ☕🫖🍰🥓🍳 @ The Three Blackbirds
Come & join us for a cuppa a chat & a bit of cake for those that fancy a little bite to eat. Coffee & Cake costs from £3:49. The pub also does Breakfast if you fancy something more substantial & at a very reasonable price. Breakfast starts from £3.95 & all breakfasts are under £10.
This is a good event particularly for new members as the pub is quiet & there's no loud music or other activities going on. Just lots of chat, laughter & new friends being made.
The pub also offers a range of other snacks & meals throughout the day from 12pm.
Please pay for your drinks/food as you go or set up a tab.

⚠️ Important Parking Info
The pub has a car park at the rear of the pub which you access via Anchor Lane. Please remember to enter your registration details on the console in the pub so you don't get a ticket! There is limited parking on St John's Road, some is free - some there are restrictions. There is also a car park on Cowper Road which is a few minutes walk away.

The pub is also in walking distance from Hemel Hempstead train station. And approximately 7-10 minutes from Station Road or 20 minutes walk from the town center where the buses stop at Marlowes or Riverside.

Mid-week Quiz & Social @ Steamcoach - Boxmoor
The Steamcoach, 86 St John's Road, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1NP, GBEveryone is welcome & you don't have to be good at quizzes to attend. Enjoy a fun & social quiz evening. Maximum of 6 per team, so we will split into teams depending on numbers on the night. Cost is £2 per person, please bring cash with you. Cash prizes. The bottom bar area has been reserved for us from 8:00pm, if anyone fancies having dinner or drinks & a chat before the quiz. You can view the menu online to see what is on offer.
The quiz starts at around 8:15 & finishes at approximately 10:30.
As with all our events it’s a must that if you cannot attend that you change your RSVP as soon as possible if you can no longer attend. This applies on both the going list & the wait list where applicable.

It is a friendly, pretty village – Real Ale & Craft Beer pub (with REAL home-cooked fodder... Yummy) overlooking the picturesque Boxmoor common cricket pitch. The pub has been in operation since the 1800's providing refuge for weary travellers. Hi all! I'm organising a group to head to Berko Fields Festival on Saturday 12th September – "Local Legends Meet Global Greatness" day, at Berkhamsted Cricket Club, Castle Hill, HP4 1HE with a 400 drone lighting display.
Gates open at 12:00 and the day runs through to 22:30, with a drone light show finale. I'll personally be there from 6:30pm onwards if you fancy joining me, but you're welcome to arrive earlier too.
I've managed to secure discounted tickets for our group. To lock in your spot, please send £30 to Karen Dealey. Drop a comment or message me if you're in, and I'll get you sorted with a ticket!
I apologise for the short notice but tickets are selling out. So please RSVP with payment by Monday night.
Whether you're coming with people you know or looking to meet some new faces, this is a great evening of food and good company — a little different from the usual pub gathering 🔥

ℹ️ Refund policy No refunds will be given unless another member pays to take your place, so please check the date & ensure you are able to attend before making payment.
If the group organisers can sell your ticket on to someone else only then will you have the option to have a refund or donate the money towards the Meet Up fees which keep this group running. You must request this at the time of cancelling to Karen.
⚠️ Payments to anyone other than the group organisers Karen or Pam will make your refund void.
ℹ️ You cannot RSVP yourself. Once we've received your payment we'll move you to the 'Going' list.
