Each mixer has a unique theme. Through a series of one-on-one 8-minute rounds, you get to meet everyone in the room. You show up as you are — no bios, no algorithms, no judgment. Just real people meeting in real life, with structure that makes it efficient, non-awkward, and unexpectedly joyful.
Whether you're here for new friendships, collaborators, or a deeper sense of presence, Gist creates space for mutual discovery — of others and of self.

The vibe: Finding your spontaneous Saturday regulars, not networking. Swap hidden gem recs, make plans to explore them together—whether that's today or next weekend.### What to Expect:
If you find typical mixers a little overwhelming, our format is designed for genuine connection. The magic is in our rotating, one-on-one, 8-minute conversations, focused on the Mission District.
We pair you up, give you a neighborhood question each round (favorite hidden spot? best taco? mural you always stop for?), you rotate. This structure is intentionally designed to reduce social anxiety, letting you relax and be yourself while skipping the small talk and actually connecting over what you love about the neighborhood.
Each 8-minute round is a chance to find a potential friend for your crew, one great conversation about Mission history, art, and food at a time.### Our Goal For You:
This isn't just about talking about the neighborhood; it's about finding the people you want to explore it with. Our goal is for you to leave having built your next crew—people who will actually text you about checking out murals, trying that new taquería, or exploring Precita Park together.
