A community for people building a life on the Gaia Coast.
I kept noticing the same thing whenever I walked along the Gaia Coast.
This place was asking me to participate.
There was something about the ocean, the river, the nature, and the rhythm of everyday life that made me want to explore more, connect more deeply with the place, and create something here.
I started thinking about what it would mean to not just live here, but to be part of bringing more life to this place. And then I started noticing the people.
There are people from all kinds of backgrounds around here — locals, internationals, people who have just arrived, people who have been here for years, and people who simply keep finding their way back to the coast. So many different people, with different stories, somehow sharing the same place.
And I started wondering: Is there anyone else who feels the same?
That question became Gaia Coast Collective.
A welcoming community for people who feel connected to the Gaia Coast — whether you live here, spend a lot of time here, or simply love this part of Portugal.
Some of us have just arrived. Others have lived here for years. Some don’t live here at all, but keep finding their way back to the coast. Some are building businesses or creative projects. Others are simply looking for good people to share life with.
What brings us together is a curiosity about people and place, an appreciation for nature, meaningful conversations, and the joy of building a life we actually enjoy.

Join Coast Studio for a relaxed morning outdoors, combining gentle Qigong, flowing movement, herbal tea and conversation.
A chance to move your body, connect with others and enjoy a different rhythm of life on the Gaia Coast, where the Douro meets the sea.THE EXPERIENCE
Qigong & Flowing Movement
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice that combines slow, flowing movements with breath. Traditionally, it works with qi — the body’s vital energy — through movement, breath and awareness. It’s a simple yet powerful way to reconnect with the body and cultivate a sense of energy, lightness and presence.It’s a beautiful practice to experience outdoors, where we can slow down and connect with the rhythm of our surroundings.
Aníbal will be guiding the session. He discovered Qigong and Tai Chi in 2001 and has been practising and teaching ever since. Today, he shares his practice from his own studio in central Porto.
We’ll also play with a few gentle Tai Chi movements, simply to experience a different kind of flow.
No previous experience is needed.
Tea Circle
After the movement, we’ll gather on the grass with warm herbal tea and some light snacks, unwind, chat and get to know each other.

- Price: €18 (includes the session, herbal tea and snacks)

ABOUT COAST STUDIO
I’m creating Coast Studio as a way to bring together some of the things I love — movement, dance, creativity, mindful practices, nature, fun stuff and, most importantly, people.
This first gathering is Qigong because it’s a practice I personally enjoy. I love the way it combines movement, breath and awareness, and how it can leave you feeling more connected, present and energised.
This is the beginning of a series of small gatherings exploring different ways to move, connect, create and experience more of the place we live.
