Welcome to the Stockholm Badminton Meetup! We are excited to bring together badminton enthusiasts from around the city to enjoy the game, meet new people and improve their skills. Whether you're a beginner just looking to learn the basics or an experienced player looking for a challenge, we welcome all skill levels to join us. We'll be meeting regularly at Frescati Sports Centre, where you can expect to find friendly and supportive players who are passionate about badminton. So come join us to have fun, work up a sweat and make new friends!

We play at mixed levels. Most players are around a lower intermediate level. We also often have upper-intermediate players and occasionally beginners. We balance the players during each game so everyone can have fun (Satu will arrange the players and the courts).
We play with the plastic shuttle (Yonex Mavis 350 medium). If you are playing with feathers, you can bring your own feather shuttle. Most of us would not mind playing with feathers.

MATCH FEE
The match fee is 80 sek (summer period) per person for court rent and shuttle (plastics). Pay via Swish to Satu, 073 5899 008. If you don't have Swish, please message me. I also have Wise and Revolut. RSVPs without Swish will not be included in the count. If you have swished but did not get the spot (someone else swished before you), I will swish you back.
If you have swished, you can cancel (by writing to me) at the latest 24 hours before the game starts and receive a refund of the fee. Last-minute cancellation may be charged (full or half, depending on cases)

- Non-marking indoor badminton shoes
- Badminton Racket (If you don't have your own rackets, there is a facility for renting at the reception at your own cost.)

If you are a beginner or intermediate and interested in training to improve your skills, we have a club training at our Racket Sports Club - Fun Competition in FrescatiFrescatihallen, Stockholm
To close the summer season, we want to do fun badminton competition.
Class and registration
Registration link here3 double classes (all gender): Beginner plus, Intermediates, and Mix (the pair consist of a beginner plus player and an intermediates)
Beginner plus: Knows the basic shots and rules, can rally but still lacks consistency and footwork under pressure.
Intermediates: Plays with good consistency, court awareness, and uses basic tactics in both attack and defense.
Let the organiser know if you are unsure on your level. We can help you decide. Categorization for the classes will be strict. If organiser determine that you are in the wrong level, you will be moved to the right class.
You can register with pairs or individually. If you register individually, the organiser will try to get you pair from the same class.
Registration is 300 SEK per pairs or 150 SEK per individual. Swish to Satu (073 5899 008). If you dont have Swish, let Satu know. He also have Revolut and Wise.
The competition will only use Yonex plastic shuttle (Mavis 350 medium white or similar). This will be provided by the organiser.
Match mechanism
If a class have at least 8 teams, we split them into groups of 4 teams. Round robin, best of 2 sets, each sets is 15 points without deuce. Best of 2 sets means if each team win 1 set, the third decider set will be played.After round robin, the first two teams in the group move to Upper knock out round. The last two move to Lower knock out round.
If we have odd number of team count (for example cant be divided by 4), we will have group containing more than 4 teams. In this case, first two teams move to Upper KO, the next two teams move to lower KO.
Starting Semi Final, if we have enough time, we will use 21 points system with deuce and max 30 points.
No judge will be provided. But feel free to ask anyone around to be judge of your match.
Others
If you no longer play in the competition, feel free to use the empty courts to play with other players. Organiser will announce which court that can be used for free game. Ideally we will have enough court so people can play like normal 3 hours game (in rotation).Since its only a small and fun competition, no money or flight ticket will be given as award. But instead, small prizes will be awarded to winners (chocolates, fruits, etc)
The registration data will only be used in conjungtion with the competition.
