A unique pay-what-you-can 1-hour yoga class followed by the opportunity for community building and delicious local coffee.
The Yoga
Slow it down, line it up, and switch things on. This won’t be a “movement to breath” class where we rush through poses at a one-size-fits-all breath pace. In this practice, there will be lots of invitational anatomical cuing to lead a practical alignment-based asana practice. The goal is not to look pretty in the shapes, but to keep it functional and grounded with a blend of nervous system nourishment, targeted activation, lengthening, and a healthy dialogue between you and your body. We’ll be invited to tap into self-love on both ends of the spectrum: functional strength & balance as well as functional softness & support. Laughs and bad jokes included.
The Community
We invite you to stay for some lightly facilitated community connection following the asana practice. Queen City Collective Coffee is located within the space offering tasty brews to perk back up after we zen on down at the end of practice. This, and a curated set of fun prompts and games will hopefully contribute to a real community and connection experience after our challenging and nourishing movement session.
The Commitment
I want this to be accessible for all that want to put in some effort to take care of themselves and contribute to a respectful, warm, and welcoming container. With this, I ask that you help me in creating an atmosphere wherein everyone feels safe and supported. I also ask that if you find value in the skilled yoga instruction, you make a monetary contribution that feels right to you. Last but not least, please help ensure that with the limited space we have, everyone who wants to show up has a spot–if necessary, please update your RSVP far enough in advance to allow someone else to snag a spot!
