Of obvious interest. I've allowed for a little time in advance for a meet + greet for a coffee/beer/glass of wine etc
I'll send my phone number, meetup specifics to those that register.
"In commemoration of the 200 year anniversary of the birth of the railways ‘The First Five Miles: A Stockton & Darlington Railway Story’ comes to The Forum. The film is a documentary/drama that details how the first steam powered passenger line came into being.
Written and directed by award winning Witton Park born filmmaker Michael Smith, and produced by the Tees Valley International Film Festival, the film tells the story of a lesser known aspect of the world’s first passenger railway. Namely, the initial five mile journey from Witton Park to Shildon in County Durham.
The First Five Miles stars British acting legend Stephen Tompkinson as George Stephenson, alongside Michael Hodgson (Royal Shakespeare Company, Smoggie Queens) as Edward Pease, the financier of this monumental moment in history.
Placing testimony from local historians alongside dramatic re-enactments of the key events of this monumental feat of engineering and ingenuity, ‘The First Five Miles: A Stockton & Darlington Railway Story’ is sure to fascinate, educate and greatly entertain.
The evening also includes an interview and Q&A with filmmaker Michael Smith, local historian and Northern Echo chief feature writer Chris Lloyd led by Michael Luke from the Tees Valley International Film Festival.
