TOPIC: FALSE FRIENDS
Do you know of any words that are the same in another language but, in fact, have a completely different meaning?
e.g. - Sensible in Spanish means sensitive, not sensible. This is a common 'false friend' and can be confusing for learners. If you can, please bring some to share at the next event :)
Hello!
Looking to practise or improve your language skills?
Whether you're new in town, feeling social or just fancy meeting new people and practising your languages, this is the place for you.
The idea behind this event is to exchange languages. Although the main languages tend to be English, Spanish and French, all other languages are always welcome :)
Everyone knows it's not easy to learn another language, so let's help each other, learn about different cultures and have a drink at the same time!
Locals, expats & students all welcome.
The events are free, yet in order to cover meetup's organiser fees, we accept contributions. A suggested donation is 50p and would help to support the group.
During the event, please respect the bar by consuming a minimum of 1 drink (the bar is card only) 🍺☕🍷
Any questions.. send me a message
HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON :)
