About us
Welcome to Cast Your Shadows Behind The Screen. This is a space for anyone interested in the quiet, tactile art of shadow puppetry. Whether you are a fan of traditional storytelling, an artist looking to experiment with light and silhouette, or simply curious about how to construct a character from nothing but paper and movement, you will find a home here. We are putting together a community of people who appreciate the low-tech magic of creating worlds with just a lamp and a screen.
Our gatherings are informal and hands-on. We spend our time sharing techniques for jointed puppet construction, experimenting with different light sources, and practicing the rhythms of movement that make a static figure come alive. You do not need any prior experience to join us; we are all learning the nuances of this craft together. If you have ever wanted to step away from the digital and work with your hands to tell a story, we would love to have you join us for a session.
