What we’re about
Are you looking for new friends with similar values and world views? Hoping to build your LGBTQIA+ community in Connecticut? Then this is the group for you.
Primarily for folks in their 20's and 30's, Building the Rainbow is open to members of any gender, sexuality, and background. We hope to cultivate genuine, supportive friendships with other queer folks through monthly activities, from book crawls to arts and crafts nights and more. Events will take place across Connecticut and highlight small businesses and public spaces that make our state feel like home.

Pizza Night at Bar
BAR, 254 Crown St, New Haven, CT, USABOUT: Join New Haven native and beloved Building the Rainbow member Fia for dinner at Bar, a popular pizza spot with unique toppings like mashed potatoes.
Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can make a reservation accordingly. You should also be sure to join our Discord server and check in with the #pizza-night-at-bar-november-13 channel for more details.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- CHILDREN: This is an adults-only event.
- ANIMALS: No pets are allowed at this event.
- ACCESSIBILITY: No known mobility restrictions for getting into the restaurant. Please be aware that the seats are picnic table-style with no back support. This is a buzzy establishment, so expect dim lights and some noise from surrounding tables, depending on how busy the restaurant is that night. We suggest bringing earplugs if you are sensitive to noise.
- FOOD: We will be ordering pizzas to share. Gluten-free and dairy-free options unknown. Host Fia will put down her credit card and folks can pay her back for their portion with Venmo, Zelle, or cash. Expect to spend around $30 per person, or less.
- SUBSTANCES: As always, this is a substance-free event to support our friends in recovery. Please do not plan on purchasing alcoholic beverages of any kind or consuming cannabis in any form. Thanks for understanding!
- PARKING: College Street Garage (paid) is less than a block away. There is on-street meter parking, but it can be difficult to snag a spot. We suggest carpooling if possible. Can also arrange pickups from New Haven train stations.
