What we’re about

This group is a book club, but we are looking for it to be a social gathering also. I started this book club in August 2024 under a different account - hence, the "2.0" in the group name. This group was originally designed to be a mystery novel book club, but there were requests to open it to other genres also.

I TRY to meet on the 3rd Friday evening of each month. That could change, but it would be posted well in advance. I also aim to post the titles a couple of months in advance so people have time to get a hold of and read the book. We have casual conversations about the book, but conversations often shoot off into related topics. And of course, we make new friends!

This group is open to all adults. A mix of genders and ages makes for interesting and varied points of view. You are welcome to read the book or listen to the audiobook. If there is a movie based on the book, you may choose to watch that instead. We hope that you will join us for our next event!

It’s time to vote on which books we will read for 2026 (Feb-Nov). Attached is a list of books compiled from member suggestions (including some from my TBR list) as well as some from best seller lists. The list is long! The books are listed alphabetically and are numbered for reference. I have attached a link for Google Docs with the books listed.

I had Google give a 2-sentence summary for each of the books, so the list does not have in depth descriptions of the books.

For voting, I ask that you select 10 of the books you would be interested in reading. The 10 books with the most votes will be selected for this year.

Please join us for a discussion of this month's book. We will meet at McAllister's Deli in the glass room on the right side of the dining area once you enter the restaurant. The restaurant asks that members make some kind of purchase for the use of the room - even just a beverage. Most people grab a bite to eat while we chat about the book.
