Are you new to the Bay Area? Do you want to make new friends? Do you want to go hiking but don't want to do it by yourself? Are you curious about the breweries?
This group is for anyone interested in socializing and staying active in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We enjoy meeting new people so feel free to check out our events! Come say hi and see where that takes you :)
IMPORTANT RULES:
- Please RSVP before showing up and update it accordingly if you can no longer make it to the event.
- Please be respectful. We do not tolerate offensive behavior and ban people who harass other members of the group.
- The organizers are not responsible for any injuries or damage that may happen to you while attending any of our events, especially when doing anything outdoors such as hiking. You are responsible for your own safety at all times.

WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
Let's meet at the park for a casual walk to break up the mid-week blues. There's a walking trail that goes through the park, and another trail by a creek next to the park, so we can do either one. (Or both!)I'll get to the park early (around 6), but we'll start sometime around 6:40 to give people time to drive through traffic.
There's also a basketball court, (2) pickleball courts, (3) tennis courts, a fitness/outdoor workout area, softball field, and lots of open grass. If you have a basketball, soccer ball, or some other outdoor equipment/game, and want to play, please bring what you have!
Let's start off meeting near the fitness area between the basketball court, tennis courts, and the parking lot.
HOW TO GET THERE
(Time estimates assume no traffic)Car:
A little more than 2 minutes (0.5 miles) after getting off of 680
Around 5 minutes (1.7 miles) after getting off of 880
There's a small parking lot in front of the basketball court, otherwise you can park on the street.BART:
Get off at the Milpitas BART station, then it's a- 15 minute (2.7 miles) bike ride
- 20 minute bus ride (take the 217)
- 7 minute drive/rideshare (2.4 miles)

WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
Since it's (throwback) Thursday, let's talk about a throwback - life before smartphones were ubiquitous. We'll talk about how things were before everyone had a computer in their pocket, and whether the advances in technology have made life easier or harder.To add some spice, we can also discuss how we can change smartphones to _______________ (fill in the blank and discuss it with the group).
We can sit around the picnic tables or talk about this while we walk around - we'll decide based on the weather and group opinion.
