What we’re about
We will have a lot of hikes in Middle Tennessee. However we will also do a lot of hiking in the Cumberland Plateau and Cumberland Mountains which are between Nashville and Knoxville and between Nashville and Chattanooga. Most of these hikes will be long day trips but are very awarding hikes.
We will also offer longer hikes that involve overnights. These hikes are from anywhere from the Smoky Mountains to the Rocky Mountains or anywhere there are good hikes that the group would like to hike.
In addition to hiking we will be open to all kinds of outdoor activities from kayaking, biking, horseback riding, sitting around a fire, camping, caving, having a picnic, listening to live music outside, rock climbing or pretty much anything that is outdoors.
We may also have some social activities as well such as dinners or other activities that will help us all get to know each other.
We are always looking for people who are will to host meetups and I am always willing to help you organize your first few meetup events so let me know if you would like to be an Event Organizer

https://tnstateparks.com/parks/event_details/long-hunter/#/?event=nightjars--birds-of-mystery-050425The cedar glades and barrens of Long Hunter State Park are home to three unusual types of birds which are members of the nightjar family: Common Nighthawk, Whippoorwill, and Chuck-will's-widow. These unusual birds call at night and are rarely seen.
Join wilderness guide Jason Allen for a one-mile evening stroll to learn about these mysterious birds, investigate their habitat, and perhaps even see or hear them.
Please keep in mind that this will not be a fast-paced hike. We will be stopping frequently to watch, listen for and discuss these one-of-kind birds.
No pets, please.
