About us

Dayton Running Club is a social group for runners. We host a speed workout, social run, and bike path run every week. Our Social Run Thursday meets at a different local bar every Thursday night. The course is marked, with cones, signs and chalk arrows, by club volunteers. Afterwards, we celebrate with food and drinks at the bar. Tuesday we have Speed Training at a local outdoor track where we work on running techniques, perform drills and sprints to improve pace. On most weekends, we meet for local races or organize a bike path run.

5 Rivers - Oakwood High School

5 Rivers Running Club, one of our sister running groups in the Dayton area, has a Saturday morning run every week starting in front of Mack Hummon Stadium at Oakwood High School (Shantz and Dellwood). The run is hosted by Jeff Lucas.

They usually get 20 or so runners out every week, all of varying paces.
They start right at 8:30am, so if you are late they will be gone; they are not as forgiving as the DRC.
They have several different 6-8 miles hilly routes. The courses are marked with chalk most of the time. There are 3 regular routes that are not marked but there are enough runners that do and will help you along.

Early Packet Pickup
Save time on race day by picking up your race packet ahead of time at the Columbus Running Company.

Locations: You can pick up from the Short North, Dublin, Grove City, Pickerington, or Westerville CRC (Please note: There will be no early pickup available at the Delaware CRC location)

Addresses: Short North (765 N High Street, Columbus), Dublin (6465 Perimeter Drive, Dublin), Grove City (3990 Broadway, Grove City), Pickerington (1250 Hill Road North, Pickerington), Westerville (50 N State Street, Westerville)

Times: Thursday & Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday 10am-6pm

Please note: early packet pickup is only an option for in-person race participants, excluding VIPs and elite athletes who will receive their materials on race day.

ON-SITE PACKET PICKUP
- Time: 6:30 - 7:55 am
- Details: Pick up your bib, shirt, and race packet if you haven't already done so at early packet pickup.
GEAR CHECK
- Time: Drop off your gear from 6:30-7:55 am / Pick up your gear after your race
- Details: Leave your bag with our gear check team for safekeeping and easy retrieval after the race.
COLUMBUS 10K
- Time: 8:00 am
- Details: The oldest road race in Columbus takes participants on a tour of the scenic riverfront, High Street, German Village, and our capital city.
BARBASOL FINISH LINE FESTIVAL
- Time: 8:30 am - 11:00 am
- Details: Live music, beer from Nocterra Brewing, vendors, and the ultimate celebratory atmosphere. All 10K race participants receive their first beer on us!
AWARDS
- Overall awards will be presented to our top finishers shortly after they complete their 10-kilometer distance. Age group awards can be picked up in the check-in tent until 10:45 AM. Please check to see if you are a winner so you can grab your 10K keepsake before you leave!

Bike Path Run - Beavercreek Station

Join us for our weekly Sunday Bike Path Run!

These are usually out-and-back runs on local bike paths. Beavercreek is our go-to bike path but we sometimes switch it up with Yellow Springs, Miamisburg, Moraine, and downtown Dayton along the river. We usually all start together but the distance and pace will be at your own leisure.

We meet at 7:20am for some stretching and then we start the run promptly at 7:30am.

Tuesday Speed Training at Fairmont High School

Join us for our weekly Tuesday evening track workout.

We will begin with a 1 mile (4 laps) warmup. During the summer we will have a short session of running drills to help with form (we skip this in the winter months).

Following the drills we will begin our main workout ranging from 400's, 800's, 1200's and even 1600's. We will have shorter workout options based on abilities/experience. Following the speed work we will do a group cool down of 1 mile (4 laps).

The nice part is no matter how fast or slow you are, we will all be together on the track! Meet us at 5:45pm at the track.

We'll stretch, warm up and start the workout at 6:00pm sharp.
