Join us to discover the art of chess, or enhance your existing skills if you’re already familiar with the game. We'll also explore how the strategies of chess reflect the complexities of life. Hosted by Gaining Freedom Chess Club.

Join us at SouthPark Library Saturday June 6th at 10am for a riveting historical discussion with author of Half Truths, Carol Baldwin. Discover life in pre-civil rights Charlotte through untold stories and historical context. These stories do not appear in Baldwin’s debut novel, Half-Truths. However, participants will gain a nuanced understanding of mid-century Charlotte and learn how historical research enriches storytelling.

Book sale and signing will follow presentation.
