Let's celebrate the sweetness of summer at the 5th Annual Asheville Honeyfest! We'll meet at the Meadow at Highland Brewing Co. where you'll find live music, food trucks, local vendors and, of course, plenty of honey to taste. Proceeds from the festival support honeybee research, and there will be a global honey tasting competition where you can sample honeys from around the world.

2- Hour Kayak Float Trip

Join us for a 2-Hour Kayak Trip down a stretch of the French Broad River in Rosman, NC - this is about 55 minutes from AVL, but well worth the drive for a relaxing day on the water.

We may be able to arrange some car-pooling. Message me to coordinate.

This is more of a float than a paddle trip, and you may get wet. Bring water, sunscreen, and please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. You may also want to bring a towel and a change of clothes. We will probably go for lunch afterwards, but you are welcome to bring your own lunch or snacks.

You will need to book your own kayak rental
Our start time is 11 am, so choose that as the start time when you book your kayak. Please note that the group must all rent kayaks and not tubes.

Potluck Hike to Lunch Rock

Folk Art Center, 382 Blue Rdg Pkwy, Asheville, NC, US
We'll meet at the Folk Art Center for a hike to Lunch Rock where we will, wait for it... have lunch! Bring your potluck items and we'll eat while enjoying an amazing view.

The hike is about 1-1.5 hours each way and I'd consider it a good workout as the trail goes up and down the whole time. Lunch Rock is a lookout point on top of a large boulder with a nice view. Please be careful when we get there as there is a steep drop-off at the end of it.

Please try to be on time. As with other Meetup hikes, if you're late you might miss us.
